YOGA BIO
Shari discovered the unlimited and positive effects of a consistent yoga practice over 20 years ago in San Francisco, California. Her journey included numerous disciplines, but it wasn’t until Ashtanga that she found her true yoga passion and was certified in 2010 in Florence, Italy (her other passion!). She now enjoys teaching a combo of vigorous, playful and challenging vinyasa flow class, pilates core and restorative. She hopes through her teaching she can inspire others with the grace and love that she has found.
Shari has been leading yoga retreats and holidays for over 10 years in amazing locations from Greece to Israel, Jordan to Morocco, Botswana to Namibia and all over her adopted and gorgeous country, Italy. Join me in Florence at Sole Yoga Florence for private groups and lessons.

Details of this retreat
Sole Yoga Holidays is overjoyed to return for our 13th retreat, July 20 – July 26, 2024 nestled high amongst the glorious cliffs of Positano, Italy. At this glorious eco-resort, nature reigns supreme, surrounded by olive groves, lemon orchards, gorgeous florals and breathtaking coastal views. This is a true yoga retreat where we all share accommodations. It is what Sole Yoga Holidays calls its “Adult Summer Camp” Retreat! Daily powerful, vinyasa flow yoga is practiced on an outdoor deck with stunning views of Positano or inside a natural rock room with floor to ceiling windows. The shared rooms are rustic, charming and quiet in the evening. The meals are fresh, filling, healthy, incredibly delicious and 100% vegetarian made with ingredients from the land. Our wonderful hosts also make homemade jams, jellies, teas, desserts and honey that we get to indulge in daily!
ACCOMMODATIONS + FOOD
All of the charming, natural rooms are shared accommodations. There is one room with bath en-suite for 2 guests or a couple. Please book together for couple. There are 2 larger bedrooms to accommodate 3-4 guests and two smaller rooms with 2 beds and bath outside room. The beds are comfortable and the rooms, although simple in decor are spacious with plenty of room for your belongings.
NOTE: If you are uncomfortable sharing with fun-loving yogis, perhaps this is not the retreat for you! This is a pared down facility with no air conditioning or a hotel-style with daily sheet/towel changes. This is about the stunning location and the yoga and the time to simplify and recharge. (*If you want 5-star, in town or on the beach, this is not the retreat for you!) The larger bedrooms have bathrooms with shower in the rooms and the smaller rooms use the shared facilities outside the rooms. In the evenings, the temperatures cool down and delicious breezes filter through the rooms. Linens and one set of towels are provided, so we recommend bringing extra towels.

The food is locally grown and freshly prepared daily. Some special requests can be accommodated upon request. We are served an incredible variety of fresh salads, homemade granolas, warm and cold dishes of seasonal vegetables, rice and pasta. We will have special organic teas and delicious desserts every evening. In fact one of everyone’s favorite discussions after yoga is always, “What do you think is on the menu today?!“
Each Day the Menu is as follows:
Light breakfast (teas, coffee, fruit)
Brunch (warm and cold dishes, salads, pastas, fruits-menu changes daily for something new each meal!)
Dinner (homemade pastas, cheeses, warm dishes, salads plus, wine, teas & dessert)
YOGA + ACTIVITIES
Daily power vinyasa yoga will be led by instructor Shari Hochberg of Sole Yoga Holidays.
We will practice on either the outside deck with breathtaking views of the Amalfi Coast or in a covered yoga room with floor to ceiling windows that open fully to enjoy the gorgeous, natural beauty of its surroundings.
In between yoga, we can relax and enjoy the magical views. It is time for some serious self-care! You can also hike around the famous trails or for the more adventurous, try rock climbing with experienced, local guides.
We will go on a private 6-hour boat ride excursion through the gorgeous and famous grottos off of the coast for swimming in the glorious Mediterranean Sea.
We will stop at the magnificent island of Capri for a few hours to shop, explore, get sandals made or enjoy a leisurely lunch.
We will also head to one of the sublime beaches for an afternoon of swimming and enjoying our time together under the shade of a colorful umbrella (rental umbrella included). There are cocktails, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages (not included) at our special spot.
This retreat is only recommended for intermediate yogis and those in good physical shape as our location is only reachable by foot. This beautiful spot in nature allows for a quiet, relaxing and private week-long retreat. We try to have lights out by 10.30 so we can fully enjoy each exciting and activity-filled day.
Please note that the location does not allow for hiking when it is dark.
If you are interested in partaking in Positano’s nightlife, this is not the retreat for you!
