About this Retreat
Lea Garnier has worked in the healing arts for over 25 years and is an established practitioner in the field. She is an Upledger trained Craniosacral Therapist, practicing now since 1990. In 2007 she became a certified yoga instructor trained in the Desikachar lineage, and co-founded Sage Academy of Sound and Center for the Healing Arts in Woodstock, NY. Lea is a student of the shamanic arts which inspired her ongoing interest in therapeutic sound for healing, which led to the organization in 2011 of the first annual comprehensive SoundHealing retreat in the northeast, The SoundHealing Retreat Intensive. Now in its 13th year, it is an ongoing platform created specifically for the pioneers of sound healing to come together and share their knowledge and wisdom,
often resulting in deeply transformational experiences for participants.
Due to its massive appeal, and to meet the demands of this emerging healing modality, Sage created The SoundHealing Certification Program in 2013. The program focuses on the fundamental areas of sound healing and caters to an international audience of practitioners working in the healing arts. In 2013 Gong Camp, with 89-year-old master Don Conreaux was created. Gong camp is a rare opportunity to study with Don who has been traveling the world for over 40 years teaching the wisdom and power of the gong. In 2014 Lea created an innovative program integrating sound healing and various styles of yoga, specifically Yin and Vinyasa. This grew into a teacher training called The Yoga of Sound, a Nada Yoga Retreat.More here: https://sageacademyofsound.com/our-story
She now offers 5 SoundHealing training/retreat intensives a year in America with expanded offerings in Europe. She is the Director of Sage Academy of Sound in Woodstock, NY.

TRAINING CERTIFICATION: Module 1 of 3
This certification program is spread over three weekend intensives equaling 100 hours of training with pioneers who will show you how to utilize a variety of Sound Healing techniques for your own practice as a Sound Healer. With a certificate of completion from Sage Academy of Sound, students will be better equipped to serve as practitioners, specialists, volunteers, interns, or even as members of a multidisciplinary treatment team within a health center or a community agency, as well as in a private therapeutic or counseling practice.
We believe that the only way to truly absorb the teachings is by total immersion and abundant practice time. The retreat style setting limits outside distraction and enhances the deep focus needed for personal healing to occur, which in turn clears the way for the teachings to be experienced and deeply retained.
Areas of study in Module 1:
Principles of Sound Healing: fundamentals and history of Sound Healing through the ages
Shamanic Sound Healing instruments:
Indigenous sound tools overview
Ancient sound practices
Tuning fork studies: presentation of the different type of tuning forks and their best use. Everybody will have a hands on opportunity to practice a tuning fork protocol, finding the best way to easily integrate the tuning forks into your life and professional practice to enhance therapeutic outcome.
A clinical session based on how to use the tuning forks in a private session
A clinical session based on how to use the tuning forks in a Sound Bath
Please note that each module can be taken independently for a Certificate of Attendance. However, to receive 100 hours of certification, you must take all three modules of the training certification program which are:
