The practice of retreat can be a valuable tool for caring for yourself or others. Personal wellness is the foundation of having peace in your family, career, and relationships. Exercising the body, sharpening the mind, softening the heart, or expanding the spirit—these can all be considered forms of achieving wellness. And they can all be practiced in the context of a detoxifying the body, to clearing our mind of the daily noise, or simply being freed (for a time) from our everyday lives of work and family.
