A yoga teacher training (YTT) is an excellent way to strengthen your yoga practice—regardless of whether or not you intend to be a yoga teacher. No matter which lineage or style of yoga you practice in, teacher training programs tend to place a strong emphasis on courses in yoga physiology and philosophy, as well as asana practice.

A typical yoga teacher training might be involve a series of weekend intensives at a local yoga studio, or a month-long retreat in a tropical location.

Yoga teacher trainings around the world typically offer a professional certification through Yoga Alliance (YA). Yoga Alliance offers 200-hour (RYT 200 and E-RYT 200) and 500-hour (RYT 500 and E-RYT 500) teaching credentials, as well as certifications for children’s yoga teachers (RCYT) and prenatal yoga teachers (RPYT).

Free Retreat Givewaway

We love you. And because we do, we're giving away another free retreat.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

This sounds like a dream! I am an education student and I have spent way too much time working all summer to pay for school. My boyfriend of 5 years is a government firefighter and has been away working most of the summer. His 30th Birthday and our 6th anniversary is coming up this winter, we would love to celebrate with a yoga retreat! We both love yoga but have barley had time to practice in the past few months. Keeping our fingers crossed! Jaimee and Dan
