I stayed at Sun Lotus during the off-season (autumn) of 2014, while out on a solo travelling journey after my father died and I finished my Masters of Science. Immediately I was impressed by the accommodations and feeling of acceptance and positivism in every detail around the place. I was able to have time for myself and join in the community with the few people who were there at the time. The people were wonderful. Two of the girls gave me confidence to express myself through art again, as we painted under dim lights in the yoga room one evening while getting to know each other. The owner and another long-term visitor provided guidance in yoga, meditation, gardening, and other activities to part take in during my stay. The food was healthy and delicious. It felt really good staying there. One of the ladies there walked me through another personal stress I was having at the moment. And the little girl, Ginger, challenged us with her fiery personality and reminded us to listen to and respect even the littlest of voices. I can honestly say that my stay at Sun Lotus Yoga Life Center changed my perspective on life. The rest of my travels throughout North America were blessed with a sense of trust and optimism that there are beautiful places and people out there that will continue to support and provide an inspiration for me, and I hope to project that same warmth and sanctuary to others who come to seek my help in the future.
