The Aranya Center is a retreat center set in a pristine forest in North Goa, India with sweeping views over the ocean and surrounding countryside. It has 16 rooms to sleep up to 40 people, and so we can host retreats of all sizes. Besides this we have a swimming pool and a yoga platform as well as a kitchen and an organic vegetable garden for fresh produce.
We are dedicated to the ideals of nurturing life and learning to heal oneself and others, because we believe the power of healing is within you.
The holistic approach of Indian medicine is a significant contribution to the world. It is interesting to note that while almost older medicine systems in the world have perished, Ayurveda prevailed, perhaps because of the soundness of its basic concepts.
Ayurveda is more than a science of life, it teaches the art of living because it believes more in the prevention than in the cure of an illness. It is an holistic approach and guides us to live in harmony with nature. As modernization has led us further away from our natural environments, we find that our ailments are most often the side effects of civilised life.
Besides curing diseases, ayurveda balances and rejuvenates. We in our centre follow these simple principles to treat those who suffer. We say treat because we believe that a doctor cannot cure. He or she only treats… Nature cures. A doctor can only guide a patient to harmonise with nature so that it works on them.
Our center adapts all the authentic treatments prescribed through the ages and does not compromise on the ancient science. In keeping with this traditional approach, our first step is to assess the constitution of a person as Ayurveda asserts that no two individuals are same. This concept is called 'Prakriti'.
Next, we prescribe treatments including ayurvedic medicines that are made in-house, Abhyanga massage treatments and a recommended lifestyle crafted around your individual assessment.
Various workshops on healthy living will also be offered from time to time, and we encourage you to explore the beautiful beaches and healing natural landscape of Goa, which is one of the bio-diversity hotspots of the world.
