From three different continents and representing three different decades, Tsiana, Monika and Sarah met when attending the Florence Academy of Art’s Fall Intensive Painting and Drawing Workshop in 2015. From that meeting a friendship was born and the initial idea for Art Escape Italy was conceived. At the end of the workshop we each reluctantly returned home to our respective countries, but the dream of an artists’ retreat in Tuscany persisted and it wasn’t long before dreams turned into concrete discussions about how we could combine our energy, skills and resources to turn Art Escape Italy into a reality.
Our main goal in designing our program of art retreats and workshops is to offer high quality art instruction with a heavy focus on figurative and portrait painting, and we are proud of the schedule that we have put together. Your instructors have mostly previously been our instructors, hand-chosen to teach for us because of our own personal experience of the standard of their classes. While still maintaining the relaxing atmosphere of a retreat, we believe that you should also come away from our retreats and workshops feeling that you gained tangible new skills that will benefit your future art practice.
If you are curious about taking a course with us in the future, please join our mailing list so that we can update you on new workshops and other events as they are announced.
