Sharing Bali

Fitness. Food. Fun.

Simple Living In A Bali Village

The one word, one person or one image that sums up Sharing Bali is elusive. Each of our guests has their own reason for staying with us. In turn they leave a little something, adding to the layers that make up Sharing Bali.

So here’s a list of words that best describes who we are and what we do.

Where: Located in a small village in the hills north of Ubud Bali, Indonesia.

By: Karen, an ex-fashion industry Aussie, and Wayan her Balinese artist partner. This is our home, our way of life that we choose to share with travellers, friends & family from near and far.

Stay: 8 simple yet authentic bungalows set amongst rice fields overlooking the mountains.

Move More: Bootcamp, Fusion Fitness, Pilates, Barre, Yoga and Fitness Adventure Retreats. Jungle treks, sunrise volcano climb, a remote caldera trek, cycling and canyon tubing feature in the retreat programs.

Eat Fresh: Nothing but fresh local produce served in authentic Balinese village style at our dining table set in the rice paddies.

Take A Moment: Active days are balanced with plenty of time to relax, enjoy the quietness.

Fresh Perspectives: The simplicity of our surrounds allows one to focus on what’s important in life. New Writers, Spiritual Discovery, Healing and Mindful Retreats are giving us a fresh perspective.

Have Fun: We keep it simple. Tossing coconuts. Splashing through rivers. Jumping for joy at sunrise. Friendships are formed, laughs are had.

Who: Ideal for solo travellers, especially women, looking for ‘vital experiences that kick-start the discovery of a whole new you.’ No single supplements!

We don’t claim to be lifestyle gurus. We have simply carved out a life that we like to share.

PS.Cantik aka ‘The Pomeranian Living In Paradise’ is always by my side and if you need some four-legged company he will happily hang out with you.

      Little slice of heaven!

Spectacular! Breath of fresh air! Friendships! Little slice of heaven! These are a few words to describe this little gem, Sharing Bali. The Bootcamp fitness retreat far exceeded my expectations. I was nervous coming solo but my worries were quickly dissolved as soon as I entered the serene environment taking in the quaint bungalows among the rice paddies, listening to the water trickling down, and seeing smiling faces. After a week of much laughter, active adventures, lots of sweat and many burpees later I came out feeling rejuvenated, inspired, and grateful for my Bootcamp buddies. Karen and Jo were absolutely amazing-from the killer workouts to the incredible hospitality. Don’t even get me started on the food-fresh fruit/veggies, delicious banana pancakes that make my mouth water just thinking about them. If you are looking to unplug from the ‘cyber world’, sweat it out while exploring Bali with like-minded people then this is the retreat for you! I’ll definitely be back for more.

      A 40th with a difference

Thank you Sharing Bali, Karen and Chantik for one of the best experiences. Celebrating my gorgeous friends 40th we jungle trekked, climbed a volcano, yoga'd it and relaxed with treatments everyday. The Birthday feast was one of the best. I didn't want to leave and loved every minute. As soon as I got to the beach and the stereotypical 'Bali' I wanted to go straight back

      Live the Dream!

Sharing Bali was an amazing experience. We were lucky enough to be a private group retreat and we were spoilt to the max! Such a special place where we got to see a really different side of Bali. Off the beaten track, Sharing Bali is a real getaway. We were treated to a real mix of culture, adventure and fitness, relaxation and pampering. The accomodation was comfortable and so picturesque, with lots of little touches to make us feel spoilt. The service was fantastic and everything was done with a smile. Karen went out of her way to ensure our stay was everything we wanted and went that extra mile to ensure we felt special. The food was fresh, tasty and amazing and we left feeling very healthy (and wanting our own chefs at home!) I can't recommend Sharing Bali highly enough for those wanting a touch of adventure, to get away from it all and experience a different side of Bali.

      MAgical Place of Smiling Faces

Sharing Bali is set in a remote village. You can see, hear and smell village life, which is exciting and insightful. The accommodation in traditional huts with a touch of luxury is simple but comfortable and I felt like a princess every time I took a shower in the outdoor bathroom. Feeling spoilt was a general theme of the yoga retreat that I attended at Sharing Bali, with pampering massages, healing yoga practice and the most delicious food I have had in my life. Everything was lovingly presented with flowers arranged on plates, floors and walls. All the activities were expertly arranged and run and the staff was so friendly. The experience at sharing Bali was one of the best of my life and helped me through a hard time.I left rejuvenated, energized and glowing. I loved the fact that it was not pretentious 5 star luxury, but simple, happy and loving luxury. I would go back in a heartbeat.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

It would my first vacation in the mountains. I think getting away and beginning a new routine would be good for me and a friend. Dianne
