7 Day Ayahuasca Retreat in Mayan Yucatan
- Oka Center Iboga (Hacienda Iboga)
- Yucatan, Mexico
- Apr 14, 2017 - Apr 21, 2017 (8 days)
Welcome to Oka Center!
This retreat is exclusively Ayahuasca, and will take place from February 10-17. You will experience 3 total ceremonies of Ayahuasca, brewed personally by our celebrated Shipibo shaman Metsa Ino. From Metsa Ino:
"I prepare each brew in the traditional way and use recipes only with Amazonian rainforest wild whole plants ethically harvested. My ceremonies follow the traditional Shipibo way, with the use of icaro singing as the main guide. My philosophy is being the bridge between Amazon rainforest cultures and western society, incorporating the more basic and traditional practices and cosmovisions of Shipibo Ayahuasca to the modern vision of western society. Every philosophy, religion and belief is welcome to the ceremonies, but I always keep the traditions of the rainforest. I don't incorporate any other cultures, beliefs or philosophies to my ayahuasca practice, but they are welcome during the ceremonies."
This retreat includes:
-3 nights ayahuasca ceremony
-Private interview with Metsa Ino
-Dieta Meals and Beverages
-Optional Body Work if needed (if recommended by Metsa Ino)
-Group intentions, meditations, and sound healing
-Trip to Chichen Itza (the world famous Mayan ruins site) and cenote
-Lodging - private room (or shared) with ensuite bathroom w/ shower
-Access to pool and rest of grounds/nature trails
You are probably already aware that an Ayahuasca retreat is an important event. Meeting this sacred medicine can be a significant event in anyone's life, so the right preparations and intentions are integral. It is important that at least 3 days before your arrival you start your dieta, which traditionally is just rice, fish, bananas, and water. However, any diet that omits the following will still give good results:
yogurt and other milk aged products
alcohol or other drugs
Once you arrive, we will continue the preparation with a liquid diet on the first day of ceremony (smoothies, etc.). We will also prepare by focusing on the breath and life in prayer and meditations, both in groups or alone in tranquility. Nothing will be forced since that never works anyway.
When you come to Oka Center you get a much needed break from the stresses of the western lifestyle. Our place is a private sanctuary on its own 500 acres in one of the safest places in the world - the Mayan Yucatan peninsula of Mexico. See our gallery here. This is an ideal place of peace and quiet for your healing and rejuvenation. We hope to see you soon <3.
