Thirty Day Silent Meditation Retreat

You are invited to join a deep meditation retreat experience, guided through intense practices, reflection, and contemplation at The Hermitage Retreat Center in Guatemala. The retreat will feature meditation, Hatha yoga, advanced meditation, and yoga teachings supported by a stunning natural setting, nourishing food, and spiritual growth from Guatemala’s Lake Atitlan.

Participants must make a commitment to join the entire retreat from the 1st to the 30th of May. The thirty days will involve a beautiful schedule of meditation, hatha yoga, and advanced teachings on Advaita Vedanta, Self Enquiry Method, Mahamudra and Dzogchen, Vijnana Bhairava Tantra, including meditation practices from Sufism, Buddhism and Christianity and sacred poetry.

The morning session (before lunch) will be guided and include a one hour lecture, guided hatha yoga and meditation, while the afternoon session will be for group self silent practice and contemplation. The emphasis of the teachings will be on meditation and is designed to become gradually more advanced, in depth and also more spacious as the retreat goes on. There will be plenty of time also for silent contemplation in the beautiful Hermitage gardens or beside the lake on our private beach or dock.

Included in the retreat are three delicious vegetarian meals per day (as much as possible from our own organic gardens) and accommodation. Participants can choose between a dormitory bed (where each bed is a private separate compartment), a private or shared room (each private room has twin beds), or a private retreat cabin. All of our accommodation has beautiful views to the lake and surrounding volcanoes.

Take a look at our website thehermitageretreats.com or email us thehermitagegt@gmail.com for more information. Limited spaces so please apply early.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

Because I sometimes work up to 16 hours a day, and need time to stop and breathe. Mary
