Relax and enjoy this most beautiful area of Spain. Tarifa is a small town in the province of Cadiz, Andalusia, on the southern coast of Spain located on the Costa de la Luz, (coast of light). We will be staying at the Villa La Peña, a luxury villa, set in a slightly elevated position nestled between mountains and the sea. The Villa boasts panoramic views over miles of sandy beaches and the Straits of Gibraltar, looking east across to Morocco's Rif Mountains and west to the Port of Tangiers.
There are lovely, unspoilt sandy beaches a short walking distance from the villa. The town of Tarifa is approximately 10 minutes away by car. Tarifa is historically and geographically significant as Mainland Europe's southern most point, a uniquely cosmopolitan town, where the Mediterranean meets the Atlantic.
Tarifa was once a small, traditional fishing village, world renowned for the quality of its Tuna and offers an abundance of high quality local fresh fish, vegetables and fruits. The old town quarter of this little seaside town is delightful, full of narrow cobbled lanes, small cafés and fabulous seafood restaurants.
There are superb views across the water to Africa, and the Moroccan port of Tangier -beautifully lit up at night. It is also the premier worldwide wind resort for Kite Surfing and Windsurfing, and the original home of the African Film Festival.
There will be 10 yoga classes over the week to relax, revive and nourish mind, body and spirit. Classes will include asana, pranayama, meditation and relaxation. You will experience yoga in a small and intimate group, with a maximum of 12 places available. This will optimise your learning and enhance your overall retreat experience. I am also able to offer mantra chant for anyone who would like to learn and this is optional.
You have the opportunity to unwind, revive and revitalise in a small group with yoga, eat delicious, nutritious, home cooked food, enjoy plenty of down time in peaceful surroundings.
There is also plenty of free time to explore the local area and take in some sights if you wish to. Alternatively you may want to simply relax, read, swim or walk in the surrounding area. This area is known as a Kite Surfer’s paradise, and kite surfing can be arranged for those looking for some adventure. All excursions are optional - you do as little or as much as you like.
We will enjoy two freshly prepared; nutritious, vegetarian home cooked meals daily. Local fish will also be available. Meals are prepared using locally sourced ingredients, some grown in the Villa vegetable garden. Snack packs of fruit and nuts are available each morning before yoga practice, followed by a generous brunch after practice and dinner in the evening. Tea, coffee and water are available free of charge. We will also have the opportunity to sample some local cuisine at a nearby restaurant on one evening. Please let me know if you hae any specific dietary requirements when you book.
