Yoga classes will have specific themes on the effects of the asanas on the physical body, astral body, kosha by kosha, and finally the effects on the causal body leading to stillness. The classes will have a specific progression. From 2-4 pm will be the theory class leading into the next yoga class. Theory will be from Chapter 2 of the Raja yoga sutras and from Swami Vishnudevananda’s book Upadesha, dealing with the chapter on the eightfold path. This course was developed from Swami Vishnudevananda’s statement “Asanas are not physical exercise” and from information that Swami Vishnu gave out while teaching his yoga classes and in lectures while Arjuna was with him from 1982-87.
