Mexico Therapeutic Yoga Retreat
Discover rest and relaxation by the ocean while invigorating and restoring your mind and body in lively yoga classes. Learn foundational yoga poses, sequences, and the principles of good alignment and breathing. We will focus on allowing relaxation to enter our bodies and minds to reset us for the upcoming year. This is De’s 6th year of offering this retreat and it is a magical place that allows stress to melt away and real changes to take place. Many of the retreat participants have come multiple years to experience this healing place and retreat.
The daily yoga schedule is:
Morning yoga 8:30-10
Brunch 10:15 am
Free time 11:15-4
Afternoon yoga 4-5
Location: We stay in Puerto Morelos-in the Yucatán. It’s a quant fishing village and has some of the best snorkeling. It has about 14 excellent restaurants in town where the food is clean (no one in 5 years has gotten sick) and walking distance from where we stay. It’s 20 minutes south of Cancun. There are many direct flights from Denver to Cancun. You book and pay for your own flight. I help arrange airport transportation to where we stay (it is an extra cost but we save money to transport together). We arrive on a Saturday and depart on a Saturday. Early to mid afternoon arrivals and departures work nice.
We stay at Villas Shanti. It’s owned by a lovely couple Jack and Jean. It has two apartment buildings with 8 apartments. They are double occupancy. There is an amazing yoga shala that is screened in with all the props. The beach is fantastic and right across the street from VS.
Price: The retreat comes with 6 brunches (from the best restaurant in town) and 2 dinners, 10 Quiet Monkey® classes and your lodging. That first night we have a welcome dinner usually 7 pm. The Friday before we leave we have another dinner. Sunday through Friday we have a brunch. These are all included in the retreat price. The total for the retreat is $1500 for each adult.
We often take a group day trip on Wednesday. We have gone to Tulum, amazing freshwater cenote’s, Hobash, and Isla Mujares. This is an additional cost and optional trip. We always have a blast!
One afternoon we go to the national (gorgeous) coral reef for a group snorkeling trip. It usually runs $30. It is an extra cost to go.
