About us

IDEAL FOR: All levels including beginners

So many are drawn to sharing their lives with animals because of their innate innocence, openness, and presence. For this reason, it can become so difficult to bear the suffering of our furry, finned or feathered friends. Caregiving demands so much of us and in that generosity of heart we often forget to care for ourselves. Compassion fatigue can lead to a sense of overwhelm and disconnect, driving us away from the very thing that likely brought us to these beautiful creatures.

Mindfulness is an incredibly accessible and applicable natural resource within each of us that can come to our aid when we face the great challenges of animal care It can also help us care for ourselves and harvest resilience rather than burnout.

Join veterinarian and mindfulness practitioner Deidre Galbo and Copper Beech Institute senior teacher Miranda Chapman in an exploration of animal care through the lens of mindfulness practice. We will introduce mindfulness and meditation, and offer simple tools to thread these great gifts into your day-to-day lives. This retreat is for all those who heal, rescue and empathize with animals.

Tuition is $125 and includes lunch.
