ODYSSEY is a residential group retreat based on the simple yet powerful idea that healing happens through connection. On this 28-day journey, guided by skilled psychotherapists and supported by a group of your peers, you will navigate the difficult waters of honest self-reflection, self-discovery, and healing. Within this safe space we will discover our edges, strengthen our ability to trust others, and re-pattern our harmful tendencies with movement and mindfulness. Standing on a foundation of compassion and guided by evidence-based research, this program offers you the opportunity to leave your self-destructive patterns behind and catalyze lasting growth as you step into a new chapter of life. This retreat is for anyone who has struggled with addiction, self-sabotage, and/or compulsive behavior, anyone who is ready to change the course of their personal odyssey.
**NEW INFORMATION: Some of our participants have expressed a need for a shorter time commitment, so we are now extending the invitation to everyone to join us for ONE or TWO weeks of our ODYSSEY. If you are unable to commit to a full month, but would like to join us for a short while to receive the benefit of truly compassionate care, mindful embodiment, and relational practice, please be in touch!**
From the moment we are born to the moment we breathe our last breath we are inundated with data and information about the nature of our world. In the beginning, we meet our surroundings with awe & wonder, utterly entranced by the majesty of manifest reality. We are open, curious, creative, and completely honest about our emotions. As we grow, no matter how blissful or heartbreaking our childhood might be, we begin to interpret and name the majesty all around us, taking it out of the realm of infinite possibility and making it concrete. We then build stories, patterns, and habits around this information. Some of our stories are enthralling, full of adventure and intrigue, while some of our stories are painful and traumatic, based on limiting ideas. As is only natural, we begin to believe that our stories, coping mechanisms, and wounds are more essential to WHO WE ARE than the original blueprint we experienced as infants: the one full of presence, authentic expression, and curiosity.
It is the task of adulthood to fully embrace the adventure of growing up, and ultimately grow into a new and authentic manifestation of that presence, creativity, and curiosity we experienced in the beginning. This means that as adults we are tasked with healing our wounds, re-patterning our self-hatred, integrating all the misinformation from childhood, increasing our capacity for authenticity and emotional vulnerability, and ultimately re-discovering our original easeful nature.
In ODYSSEY, buttressed by a group of your peers and supported by the skillful navigation of trained psychotherapists, you will begin laying the groundwork for a more fully realized adulthood. You will have the opportunity to release yourself from your self-loathing, your self-destructive choices, and your die-hard belief in the false myths you have come to believe as a result of your upbringing. Through a combination of daily mindfulness practice, intensive group therapy, movement and somatic integration, and individual psychotherapy, participants in ODYSSEY will get the chance to truly start the next chapter of adulthood: one full of truth, beauty, and goodness. The choice to embark is yours, and it starts now.
