Yoga Teacher Training in Peru

This training is intended for anyone who feels called and touched by the vast world of yoga and meditation, and would like to gain a further depth of understanding into these sacred ancient practices, and how to best share and inspire others on their path. The intention in offering this YTTC is to provide students with not only the tools of yoga, but also to inspire them to teach yoga and meditation as a truly transformational gift.

Living in the Self 200-Hour YTT Program in Lima, Peru

This 200 hour training will be a comprehensive journey with a great focus upon the esoteric origins of the yogic practice and lifestyle, bringing a working and approachable synergy between these Eastern practices and Western understandings and teaching methodologies. It is ideal for aspiring teachers, serious students of yoga, and current teachers looking to broaden their knowledge, amplify their practice, and enhance their teachings. The trainings offer a unique and comprehensive blend of Laya, Hatha and Kundalini yoga, pranayama and meditation, Nada yoga and Kirtan, Ayurveda and holistic nutrition, Tantra and compassionate communication, all with a strong focus upon living yoga as an integrated awareness of daily life. 

An enriching and diverse curriculum

The curriculum balances theory, history, practice, embodied exercises, and teaching methodologies to truly allow each participant to feel well-versed in the teachings and confident in sharing them with others. By delving deeply into the classical wisdom and spiritual intention that is at the heart of yoga, hopefully each participant will be inspired to discover their own fullness of potentiality and to enliven that in the people around them.

What to expect

Together, students and teachers will be constantly working to unravel everyone’s gifts and abilities, allowing them to realize and cultivate their most authentic way of sharing these teachings, and inspiring others on their path. The training will also focus on a down to basics approach of how to cultivate a yoga practice as a true healing modality, and how to individualize the practice for each of the students’ restorative and curative needs. 

An in-depth study, practice, and exploration of this tradition

  • Asana: discover the profound wisdom of posture as a tool for deepening relaxation, awareness, and meditation
  • Bandhas and mudras: classical Kundalini techniques and teachings
  • Pranayama: breath as a potent tool used both in asana and sitting practices
  • Meditation: daily practice and instruction on how to guide others with the help of various meditation techniques 

A comprehensive series of lectures exploring the yogic understanding of life, consciousness, and existence

Practicum

Each student will assist in at least 4 classes and teach 3 classes to fellow participants.

  • Kirtan: sharing of devotional song, chanting and musical celebration
  • Daily mindfulness and awareness exercises

Kristof Wittstock

Kristof began this life with a keen enquiry into the truth of existence. Looking for answers, he began to study astronomy, anthropology, and sociology at university, as well as developing a passion for shamanism and parapsychology. However, he never felt quite settled in the answers he received in Austria, and so, at the age of 22 he set out for India. It was in India that Kristof was first touched by yoga, and he immediately fell in love with its practices and its very practically-applied approach that allowed the teachings to be experienced as a living science.

Kristof has had the opportunity to study for the last 20 years with various teachers and schools, including Sunil Kumar, Swami Vivekananda, and The Sivananda Yoga School, all situated in India. He offers courses and retreats around the world, and continues to infuse his teachings with the revolutionary edge of Tantric yoga and Buddhism. He brings a perfect balance of focus, precision, laughter, and joy, and his teachings often honor and share not only the wisdom of yoga and meditation, but constantly remind people of the ways to live a life of alignment and awareness.

Tiffany Nicholson-Smith

Tiffany is a radiant yogini, lover of life, and devotee to service. She brings her clarity, abundant energy, and aspiration for truth into everything she commits herself to. Her interests span the globe and all aspects of life, encompassing any teachings and knowledge that will contribute to the growth of her heart, and always with a consideration for the benefit of all those she touches. A world citizen, she approaches life and every culture with an open heart, touched by the diversity of ways that the divine is honored throughout various traditions.

Tiffany first came to yoga as an avid athlete and figure-skater, enjoying the rigorous personal practice, but longing for the self-exploration and spiritual depths that she had only heard of. It was in India, almost 10 years ago, that she was deeply touched by the profundity of yoga and meditation. Since then, she has studied and practiced intensively with various teachers and masters, received more than 1500 hours of teacher training, and she now teaches worldwide.

She is inspired by Tantra yoga, Advaita Vedanta, and the wisdom of spiritual nutrition and Ayurveda. Having experienced the oneness in these approaches, Tiffany draws upon their wisdom to offer their truths in a perfect synergy that is both accessible and highly applicable. She brings a semblance of these teachings together to create classes, courses, and retreats that are not only comprehensive and intelligent, but also deeply joy-filled and celebratory of the blessing of life.

Ram Vakkalanka

Ram is a Sanskrit expert, yoga philosopher, sitar artist, Kirtan singer, key note speaker, and meditation instructor. Ram shares his deep knowledge of Sanskrit, Vedic sciences and philosophy, Nada Yoga, Kirtan, and meditation through workshops, webinars, one-on-one sessions, lectures, and talks, as well as preservative media. Nine CDs and one DVD of Ram’s works have been released so far, with a book on its way. Ram travels in Canada, India, US, UK, and Thailand, touching the lives of many people through his teachings. Ram’s writings are published in print and online media, and his talks are broadcast on radio and TV. Toronto Yoga Conference and Show, Montreal Chant Festival, Global Mala Festival, and Ananda Festival are some of the forums where audiences were enthralled by him.

Ram was born and brought up in India, steeped in Sanskrit, Vedic tradition, and music. Due to his knowledge of Sanskrit, Ram’s teachings are perfectly aligned with the original meaning of the ancient texts and free from translational mishaps and interpretational miscoloring. Being born and brought up in the Vedic tradition, Ram possesses the intimate knowledge of a life-long practitioner of the tradition and dispels some deep-routed myths and misconceptions about Indian philosophy in the western minds, with compassionate and logical explanations. Absolute novices to seasoned teachers, everyone will find something to enrich their knowledge of yoga philosophy in Ram’s teachings.
