Lead by Emily Kasman, mindful eating, and meditation coach, yoga instructor, and lover of travel. She will instill an atmosphere that yoga retreat participants dream about; where interactions are meaningful, movement is mindful, and finding time for yourself is a must. Each morning you will greet the day with a seated mindfulness meditation as well as a moving meditation (yoga). During your meals, you will practice mindful eating techniques that will improve any disease in your relationship with food. The meals are made of fresh, organic and seasonal products from the onsite garden inspired by traditional Italian recipes. Your accommodations are located in a healing environment of a Yoga Ashram in Apuglia, Italy, halfway between the Adriatic and Ionic seas. It is set in a 17th Century “masseria,” or farmhouse, recently renovated and restored to preserve the original structure, and stay true to the nature of the Valle d’Itria, most famous for it’s ancient buildings. This area is full of historic and cultural sites. Beautiful beaches are easily accessible. Martina Franca, the closest town, has a particularly beautiful old town surrounded by stone walls with prominent Baroque gates leading to piazzas and narrow, winding streets.
Instructor: Emily Kasman
Emily whole heartedly believes that “La Vita Dolce,” or the sweet life, is something that we can create. She quit her corporate job in 2009 to pursue her passion of guiding others towards a more mindful life. Teaching and practicing various styles of yoga (hatha, vinyasa, yin, and yoga nidra) is where she began to fall in love with mindfulness. She enjoys teaching a slower paced, intentional class that creates a groove that feels different than the chaos of a normal day; where a student can feel each pose integrating itself into the body. Where they can marinate in the posture and sense it seeping into the depths of their being, guiding them towards more authenticity, love and light. Emily has since allowed her expertise to overflow into mindfulness meditation and mindful eating coaching. She has taught internationally in Iceland, Guatemala and Whistler, BC, however resides in the Seattle area enjoying the outdoors and the ability to make selfcare a priority in her life.
