Akasha Ellis- New Years Bhakti Yoga Retreat Guatemala
- Villa Sumaya
- Villa Sumaya Lake Atilian Guatemala
- Dec 27, 2016 - Jan 3, 2017 (8 days)
This winter, journey with us to the highlands of Guatemala and let the long winter months of darkness drift away as you play along the shores of Lake Atitlan, “the most beautiful lake in the world”, as quoted by novelist Aldous Huxley. The climate is fantastic. Warm during the day and cool at night. It’s the “closest thing to Eden on Earth” (Lonely Planet).
We will fill our days with Yoga and set our intention to heal ourselves, those around us, and Mother Earth.
Mornings will begin with a group sadhana (kundalini yoga, chanting/meditation and pranayama) followed later by a guided Ashtanga/Vinyasa flow session.
Afternoons, we will meet once again to practice a restorative asana and/or Kundalini set, Somatics, or guided meditation that will leave our muscles relaxed, our hearts open and our minds and bodies ready for a restful night.
This retreat is open to all levels and all sessions are optional. There will be plenty of time to play, explore, relax and enjoy our surroundings.
Villa Sumaya features a solar hot tub and sauna, as well as Harmony Spa. The spa offers an extensive selection of services that range from Thai Massage to Reflexology, Energy Healing and even manicures and pedicures. All services are designed to offer a holistic approach to healing.
Villa Sumaya offers a variety of activities including swimming or kayaking the beautiful Lake Atitlan, exploring Mayan cultural traditions, food and craft markets in one of the twelve local pueblos, hiking one of three volcanoes or just taking in some of mother nature’s most breathtaking views. There are also plenty of wonderful spots to nap, relax, read or just become more present.
Our retreat begins with dinner on Tuesday December 27th 2016 and ends after breakfast on Tuesday January 3rd 2017. We would love to have you join us!
