6 Day Ayahuasca Retreat Jan 12-17th
- Shamanic Vida
- Cusco, Peru
- Jan 12, 2017 - Jan 17, 2017 (6 days)
This retreat is an interwoven plant healing, meditation with yoga practice. Mother nature gives us in abundance everything we need to flourish as human beings. At this retreat we look inwards practicing a form of vipassana (meditation). Participants will practice and be taught vipassana meditations as part of the mental preparation to taking ayahuasca and following the dieta. Light beginners classes for yoga will help free blockages and move your nete (energy in shipibo). There are always compassionate and helpful staff around to answer any questions you may have and help translate between yourself and the shamans.
Day 1: All participants must arrive in Cusco, Peru. We transport everyone to the healing center from the airport. It is important this day that a light lunch is your last meal, following the diet. We will have an introduction to the retreat this night.
Day 2: This will be the first ceremony day. During the retreats we practice a vow of silence. This is important to help us practice meditation and mindfulness, and we will guide those who are new to the practice. All will have a consultation with the shaman this day before the ceremony.
All of our ceremonies are guided by the shaman or shamans with Icaros and special instruments.
Day 3: We begin the day, after breakfast, with a conversation relaying your experience to the shaman. From this they may analyze and guide you in where you should focus your meditation for the next ceremony. There is a yoga class this day follow by a light lunch. In the afternoon there will be time to meditate and absord the wondrous surroundings of the amazon until the ceremony.
We always recommend to bring any type of journal, drawing books or spirituality/meditation oriented books which encourage healing.
Day 4: There will be a conversation with the shaman to start the day. Each participant will have a meditation to focus on for the day. There is not a ceremony today, but a moment for your body to absorb these new energies and rest. It is a large undertaking to reset your system through plant medicines and we focus on making sure this process is gentle for your mind, body and spirit. There will be three meals this day.
Day 5: Today is an important time to really focus on connecting with your spirit and giving gratitude to the earth. We will have a humble peruvian ceremony to give thanks to the earth for the medicine it gives. During yoga we will balance our physical bodies, build strength and flexibilty for our lives. We will have light breakfast and lunch this day to nurish ourselves and have energy for the upcoming final ayahuasca ceremony.
Day 6: We begin this day with ease, a filling clean breakfast and start the conversation with the shaman. There will be time to ask any questions you may have. At 11:00 AM we will arrive to the airport.
