"The entire experience at Soltara exceeded my expectations.
The resort itself and rooms were beautiful, with an exceptional view & plenty of quiet, private spaces.
The food was outstanding, with a wide variety of fresh options. I felt over fed most of the days, and well hydrated with a variety of fresh juices daily.
The facilitators made you feel safe, and were knowledgeable in all aspects of the ceremony, and maintained a trusting environment where you felt comfortable talking to them about anything and everything. They were so supportive, both during ceremonies & during down time.
Tati, the yoga instructor, was magical, and had a special gift of bringing us into a calm relaxed state before each ceremony.
This was my first retreat, and nothing could have fully prepared me for the actual ceremonies. There are not words to describe the depth of emotion that surfaced. The entire experience was life changing. The Maestro/Maestra had such a strong, and balanced presence.
And the Ayahuasca, the medicine, completely shifted the lens through which I see the world.
I am forever grateful, and look forward to next time!"

Experiences on Retreat
"I researched ayahuasca retreats to death before selecting Soltara. Naturally, as this was my first time, I was fairly nervous and cautious.
All my fears were laid to rest. Everything about Soltara, and I mean everything, was on point. The location was stunning, the rooms immaculate, clean and comfortable, the food was outstanding. The staff were knowledgeable, approachable and genuinely interested in making sure you had the best experience you possibly could.
The ceremonies were out of this world. They made sure we started with a small dose so we could get comfortable, and then we could increase it as we felt we needed. The Shipibo guides were unbelievable.
My experience here changed my life. And I know it was like this for everyone else as well. I can’t speak highly enough of Soltara."
"To everyone who is reading this, if there is a point in life, and even if there is not, and you seem everything is OK, Retreat with Soltara in Peru is something everyone wants to discover his or her real self should experience. But also, if you’re facing therapist struggles like addictions anxieties or physical neuroplastic, pain, problems, chronicle, pain, or psychological issues. This is the answer. You need to bring a portion of strength and you need to be brave because this journey is not a comfortable holiday. This journey is to yourself and the deeply healing and cleansing one. And everything cleans out on that journey will not bite you later in your life with health issues you don’t even think of at the moment.
I’ve been through very hard times there, but the team accommodated that and by the team, I specifically want to name Nick , Vivian, Stefania, you will be safe you will be in best hands with warm hearted, loving, caring, humble, and diligent highly educated people who have designated themselves to holistic health, and the power of this ancient knowledge and medicine.
Of course, mistress are incredible, powerful and traveling all the way from the jungle to The Retreat to help us and to share this knowledge.
It’s hard to describe, or it’s impossible to describe what we all in this lovely group have learned have been through and were able to strengthen ourselves for the time after.
If there will be a six star, I would give it, so please be assured that you are in the best hands with the most amazing medicine and the most wonderful environment with fantastic food if you would decide to challenge and at the same time, heal yourself with Ayahuaska. "

"I don't know where to begin. First I want to thank the Medicine for calling me to this place. It did for me what I could not do for myself. Everyone from the folks in the kitchen to the house keeping staff and the facilitators are all wonderful people that made me feel so welcome and appreciated. The area is absolutely beautiful and peaceful, the food is healing in itself and the facilitators are completely off the chart with their knowledge and compassion for each of us that where there. I can't put into words what happened to me other than it was a miracle. "
"When considering plant medicine and going on an ayahuasca journey you should really take into account the environment and having a safe place for your journey. Soltara will provide just that. A warm and friendly staff to help guide you every step of the way. The place is well organized and runs smoothly. The food is delicious and the accommodations are spot on. I stayed in the Eco Tamboo and I loved the rustic feel in the jungle. It cooled down at night and I was so comfortable. I highly recommend Soltara to anyone. "
"My first experience with ayahuasca was everything I anticipated to be and more thanks to the professional individual approach at Soltara Healing Centre in Sacred Valley Peru.
I have first heard of ayahuasca around 10 years ago and been fortunate enough to be called at the end of last year.
Soltara retreat was recommended to me by a previous customer for its excellent and efficient approach to the ayahuasca facilitation as well as an exceptional retreat vetting and organisation procedures.
I would certainly recommend Soltara for those looking to try ayahuasca for the first time as well as those who have experienced ayahuasca previously.
The facilitators Bonnie, Frida, Robert and a dedicated and talented Yoga instructor Claire. as well as Maestros Noe and Marin provided me and the group with an exceptional experience with their immaculate attention to each group member’s needs, wishes and healing requirements.
I would like to especially thank Bonnie who made me feel at ease and comforted and guided me in times of vulnerability as if she was a close member of my family.
I am eternally grateful for a life changing experience that Soltara has provided me with and will be returning in the future should the need for ayahuasca healing arise.
Thank you. 🙏🏻✨❤️"

"I want to first say that I definitely explored more the location than the plant medication itself. I read some reviews about Ayahuasca and some sounded amazing. That is not to say that some or most do not experience that. My 3 ceremonies were difficult and one was particularly bad to where my mind and body gave up on this world.
With that said....I grateful for the staff and facilitators. Without them I would have not been able to undergo this journey. They are beyond knowledgeable and caring. The location is beautiful and the food served according to the dieta is great too. The whole group loved Soltara and recommend it without any hesitation. The staff are all our angels
Finally yes I am grateful I have undergone this life experience and I did learned lessons the hard way. "
"We had a wonderful experience. Solara really pays attention to every detail. The staff and facilitators are just wonderful"
"Perfect from start to finish on all aspects. Incredible team (including the Maestros), a unique experience"
"Wow. Wow. Such an incredibly beautiful experience. Highly recommend!
A chance bus meeting and 9 month later, my interior landscape is so different it feels like another lifetime. Neten's wise insights, incredible patience and clear boundaries helped me see the intricate patterns and loops of my psyche, even through sometimes great resistance.
Her clear guidance helped me stabilize a new way of being - and not just for a weekend or a few weeks in the post retreat glow - I am present to life at the drugstore, in traffic, and even in pain. I can say without a doubt, she is one of those few people I've met where there is my life before her and something much much richer after. I am at the start of a new existence and I can't wait to see where it takes me.
Thank you!"
"My week with Neten was a life-changing experience. After years of talk therapy, I was looking for a different approach and chose to spend 6 days with Neten in a Psilocybin & Therapy retreat. I looked forward to the magic of Psilocybin mushrooms unlocking doors for me but found instead that the greatest awakening came from Neten's skill as a deeply intuitive therapist. Her insights were invaluable and I was able to absorb them thanks to the plant medicine taken over three days. Now I'm home and the journey continues in ways that would not have been possible without Neten's assistance. I'm even eating better after enjoying her delicious meals!"
"I loved my days spent with Neten and all the work that I did with her. I added the emotional release and heart opening cacao workshop to my retreat and found it extremely beneficial. I had many eye opening experiences throughout the retreat and have been able to integrate into my daily life. Neten’s space is beautiful as well as her energy. The food was delicious and the area was so beautiful."
"I am so very grateful to have shared the time with Neten. She helped me usher in a new way of life.
Thank you for all the knowledge shared, positive energy felt and alternative ways of thought expressed. I am very excited to continue my journey into self. I feel like I am the woman that I've longed to be for so very long, I just couldn't find my way to her.
I am so glad spirit led me there. Thank you for sharing your gifts Neten, you inspire me and others to do the same. Thank you for helping this little girl from Chicago feel like the capable, tender, powerful woman that I have rediscovered within me. With love "
"As much as I thought I didn’t have any expectations going into ceremony- I absolutely did. I did not expect how challenging and uncomfortable it would be, and did not know half way through the process if I could finish the week. But with the help of the amazing facilitators, I did. Thank you so much to Bonnie, Robert and Frieda- they are absolutely incredible professionals and made my experience there what it was. Thank you to soltara for taking the time to curate the best environment, healers and facilitators so patrons can experience Ayauasca in a held, supportive space. I can’t imagine doing it anywhere else. Thank you. "
"This was my 3rd time at Soltara and it was nothing short of amazing! Love all the beautiful people I meet every time I go from the facilitators, staff, and participants. The serene setting in the middle of the jungle overlooking the ocean is so conducive to the work being done in the Maloka in ceremony. I always feel so connected to the land, the space the people and the animals there, it is truly one of the most amazing places I’ve ever been. I will be back each year for sure, see you next time!"
"I attended this retreat last week and cannot say enough about the qualityof this operation. I deeply moved by the experience and felt supported throughout my stay. The staff were extremely kind, the food was healthy and delicious, and the setting is just stunning. There is a certain peacefulness to the grounds that cannot be put into words - and the location is quite unique in that it basically sits on a private beach. But most of all, I appreciated the Integrity of the operation as a whole. Brad and his team are doing an outstanding job, and I wish them continued success as they push to make Reunion even greater than it already is. "
"What a trip! As a past frequent flyer of LSD and DMT, this was a much more spiritual and healing experience. Maestros Noe and Silvia were unreal to behold. The price of entry was justified alone by their performances and loving presence. I got to witness the universe unfold in front of me with Mama Ayahuasca as my guide. The most important tip I got, was to hone my intentions on how I wanted this medicine to work in my mind, body and soul. The purging is similar to a workout - nobody really wants to do it, but when you do, you feel infinitely better. If you focus, mama listens, and the maestros sing their hearts out for your sake. I am forever grateful to Noe and Silvia on their dedicated work to free the world from trauma.
Unless I'm getting healed, I'm just getting high
I want some healing, I've spent plenty of time getting by
Snake-oil salesmen were tar-and-feathered, left high and dry
But I'm not that guy, and if you're not a healer, buh-bye
Thank you Soltara and staff for the dreamy retreat setting"
"During my recent visit to Soltara Healing Center for an ayahuasca retreat, I was profoundly moved and transformed by the experience. Nestled in the heart of breathtaking countryside, this sanctuary offered not just a retreat but a journey into self-discovery and healing that was both profound and life-changing.
The staff and facilitators at Soltara were nothing short of exceptional. Their expertise, empathy, and unwavering support created a safe and nurturing environment for exploration and growth. They guided us through the process with so much love and care, ensuring that every participant felt seen, heard, and valued. Their dedication to our healing journey was palpable, making the experience all the more powerful.
The setting of Soltara Healing Center is a piece of paradise on earth. The beautiful countryside, with its lush landscapes and serene ambiance, provided the perfect backdrop for introspection and connection with nature. Waking up to the sounds of the wilderness and meditating amidst the natural beauty was an experience in itself, enhancing the healing process and fostering a deep sense of peace and tranquility.
But what truly sets this retreat apart is the ayahuasca experience. It was profound, illuminating, and, without exaggeration, life-changing. The ceremonies were conducted with the utmost respect for tradition and safety, allowing us to explore the depths of our consciousness and confront our innermost thoughts and feelings. The insights and revelations I gained have had a lasting impact, offering clarity and direction that I had been seeking for years.
Above all, the sense of community and unconditional love throughout the retreat was overwhelming. The support from both the staff and fellow participants created a bond that felt like a family. This atmosphere of acceptance and understanding allowed us to open up fully, share our journeys, and support each other in our healing paths."
"I attended a 7 day Ayahuasca retreat recently at Reunion and never have I felt so safe in a new place, like I did there. The warmth of every person (staff as well as facilitators) at the center, their smiling faces as well as the clarity offered in how the week would proceed was real helpful. Additionally, the location of the center with an almost private beach (none of beaches in Costa Rica are private but the Playa de Azucar felt sufficiently secluded), the raw natural habitat, the temple where the ceremonies were conducted - all of this felt just right in energy to enable a profound experience for me. The authenticity of Shamans from Peru was evident by how they conducted the ceremony and how they would be right by my side, every time I needed support - expressing exactly what I needed to hear at the moment. Also, throughout my process, I never once felt unattended to, which can mean a LOT when you're in your journey. I'm still blown away with how well the week was conducted and the kindness I was showered with.
Lastly, not to forget the food! So divine! So so delicious that I feel homesick now without access to it.
In case you're still wondering if you should go here or not, don't. Just go and you will thank yourself later. :D"
"While it was not always easy it was worth it. It is the first time that I have ever been able to truly let go and I now feel liberated from my past. All of my questions were answered and my brain feels super charged after this incredible experience! I would not want to go anywhere else for this experience as Ithe facilitators and healers were extremely nuturing.."
"This was my first time at Soltara and my first time doing a Ayahuasca ceremony.
And I can only say that it was truly incredible. The centre Guru was beautiful, the rooms were super clean and very well furnished. the whole support team was absolutely A+ and the food was delicious.
The group was also incredible and we shared a lot, witch truly helped everyone.
And the ceremony's were an amazing experience. We had three ceremony's and it's almost unbelievable how well they fit together. As if GM Ayahuasca knew up front what the best way to do the work that needed to be done was. And I've got so much respect for the hard work the Maestro's do.
I'm super impressed and enthusiastic about everything that happened and I'm certainly coming back to Soltara. I wouldn't want to do Ayahuasca in any other setting than this traditional Shipibo way."
"This was an amazing experience that gave me a new lease on life. I never knew how much love I could feel for people in this world. The facilitators and staff were absolutely amazing and incredibly supportive, I love them all very deeply. Also the retreat group I was a part of was incredible and will be friends for life. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to change their life and possibly one of the most beautiful places on earth.
Nothing but love,
GJW"
"I wholeheartedly recommend Soltara Playa Blanca for anyone who’s interested in starting or developing his / her relationship with the plant medicine. The attention to every single detail, the stewardship, dependability and warm hospitality the team offers made my stay perfect and inspiring. To be continued! "
"Soltara has been, and remains, the gold standard for plant medicine healing. Their combination of Western and Shipibo practice makes for a seamless transition between the spiritual journey itself and the integration process following. This is my second retreat with Soltara, and I am looking forward to a third!"
"Every detail of the experience was designed with excellence, and not to mention the Maestros, who were so powerful, in integrity, and kept the space super protected. The venue in sacred valley is magical, the food is yummy and nourishing, the facilitators are soooo supportive and present, and simply put it was a 5/5 experience. So glad I chose Soltara for my first aya experience."
"Playa Negra CR is a beautiful area with wonderful nature and cute restaurants. As a solo female traveler, I felt entirely safe in the town.
Peace Retreat is also beautiful, but I WOULD NEVER LET SOMEONE I CARE FOR STAY THERE.
I had many unsettling experiences. Here are the top two:
(1) I asked the hotel to arrange a surf lesson for me and another guest. While surfing I severely injured my knee and was unable to walk or stand on my left leg. The instructor had no idea how to handle the situation and just offered me a beer to “chill out.” They didn’t take my injury seriously at all and I had to struggle to advocate for myself in a foreign language (thank goodness I have working medical Spanish). I demanded to head back to the hotel because I assumed they had some plan for handling emergencies.
After returning to the hotel I was shocked at the level of care. They clearly have no ability to handle a medical event and were unwilling to even take my injury seriously.
No one there had medical skills or even a basic first aid kit. All I wanted was an ice pack and an ace bandage and they had neither. They had to go off site to get a bag of ice. It is irresponsible that a rural place where people are regularly practicing sports is so unprepared. I'm scared to think about what would have happened if I had a more time sensitive medical issue. I have zero confidence in this team.
On top of that Kevin--the owner of the hotel--was a total weirdo with me. Cell service is spotty on the property so I found myself sitting in a public area icing my leg and trying to make some phone calls. Kevin sat down next to me and told me I should ask "why me? why now?" and “what is the universe telling me with this injury?” When I told him I was busy scheduling a wheelchair escort for my airplane home, he scoffed and said “really” as if I was just being dramatic. I asked him to leave so I could handle my own care.
Now that I’m home and have seen a doctor, it turns out I have a torn meniscus and need surgery. So I wasn’t being dramatic.
I am not angry that I got hurt during a risky sport -- I signed up for that risk. But I am livid at the hotel's general negligence. I saw a hotel staff member give the instructor two $20 bills on the $150 USD they charged us. I understand that a hotel upcharges for concierge services, and have no problem with them making a reasonable profit. But I can’t help but think I would have had a safer experience if they profited a little less and hired a vendor with appropriate skills. Same goes for their lack of staff training at the hotel site.
(2) Even before my medical event, I was wildly uncomfortable with the “yoga classes” taught by Kevin.
Each “class” started with a 45 minute sermon (videotaped and posted online!). Kevin made us circle around him while he presented a "problem" and a "solution."The problem was us: he told us were “monsters“, “repressed”, and “broken." The solution was yoga, and by extension, him the instructor.
The problem + solution framework is a classic sales technique designed to prey upon the insecurities of someone so that they purchase your product. It is irresponsible to casually poke at people's trauma without care or context. If students resisted or questioned this framework, they were dismissed as "not ready for the message."
When the sermons finally ended, there would be 30-40 minutes of light yoga. The experience was abrasive at best and abusive at worst.
These are just my two worst experiences. There were several others as well. If you stay here, please do your research and be prepared to take care of yourself."
"For me, home is very hectic. Coming to Reunion for a week was the most peaceful, soothing, calm, loving experience, that I have experienced thus far. I knew returning home that I was going to crave that sensation, I was going to really hone in on my meditation in order to get just a small taste of the feeling that I felt being at Reunion. The facilitators were the most soothing, loving beings on planet earth, gently guiding us through every ceremony and lovingly explaining everything we needed to know. No words in any language can accurately describe the profound, loving sensation that you feel when you sit in ceremony with Aya. I’m four days fresh out of Reunion and already mending bonds that haven’t been mended in years. Ayah feeds you spoonfuls of specific medicine for each individual in order for you to start the process of healing. She’s sooo beautiful!!! THEE most love I’ve ever felt this far. Thank you to all the beautiful staff at Reunion, thank you to all the facilitators, thank you Brad for starting this beautiful organization. Thank you for walking me home. "
