Paul Temple was born in England in 1953. He graduated from University College of North Wales, Bangor with a degree in botany and a postgraduate teaching certificate, during this time he pursued his passion for rock-climbing. Paul was employed as a secondary school teacher before immigrating to Canada, where he worked as a supervisor of industrial training and as a technical writer in resource industries in Canada’s far north. In 1984 Paul travelled to India and lived there for more than 10 years studying yoga, meditation and eastern philosophy, he supported himself by teaching Sanskrit sacred prayer to foreign visitors. In 1999 Paul first visited Peru, fell in love with the country and has been returning regularly since then; a student of the Shamanic tradition for more than 12 years, with particular interest in the entheogenic use of sacred plant medicines, their traditional and contemporary role in the development of human consciousness.A lifelong gardener, Paul currently lives just outside of Pisaq in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, in a house that he designed himself based on the principles of sacred geometry, where he cares for the gardens and several cats, and guides visitors in the ceremonial use of traditional plant medicines.Following the devastating floods in the Cusco area in January 2010, Paul has been involved with the establishment of an assistance program for the most severely affected villages, and is currently directing financial support for the building of a community Medical Clinic, and a small experimental program to reintroduce the cultivation of the traditional Andean ‘supergrains’ (Quinua and Kanihua) for the remote, high-elevation pueblo of Q’enko.

I did a ceremony with paul in peru at a pre-incan ruin in the beautiful blazing sun. It was my first experience and it was fantastic. Paul has spent decades in ashram's in India and it shows. He is wonderful and calm and knows how to gently hold the space of medicine. I can very highly recommend him for anyone who wants to do spiritual or healing work with huachuma.

I am honoured to have been held, guided and assisted on my personal journey of growth by Paul over the past four years. He is incredibly peaceful, with a huge heart, yet has a strength and presence that allows you to go more deeply and further into your own journey of healing. Paul is a gifted Maestro of the San Pedro (Huachuma) plant medicine and I highly recommend him to anyone considering this way of working.

I had the blessing of spending 5 months of my journey with Paul. He is a heart-centered lovely man, who shares his wisdom and knowledge with care. He has spent a significant amount of time in India and spent time teaching me some mantras-which have been a very useful tool since leaving Peru and returning to the outer world. He has worked with Huachuma for many many years and holds a very beautiful space during ceremony. I always felt loved and cared for. I recommend doing ceremony with Paul, to anyone interested in doing a huachuma ceremony. Hummingbird retreat is a beautiful space-serene and tranquil.

Dear Brother it is a true honour to listen to the words of wisdom & applied knowledge you share. Those that listen/feel with the heart will be well-guided by your peaceful strength. Being in your presence and feeling your connection is a blessing. Going out on a mountain trip with you is always a highlight…

I am blessed to have met Paul who embodies everything I respect in someone who works in this ‘space’ with plant medicines. Quietly unassuming, Paul brings a wonderful energy to plant ceremonies. His affinity with the plants, respect and understanding of the local culture and heritage and his own presence itself all make for the ideal ‘host’ when in ceremony. A sense of trust was immediately instilled during the ceremonies – it was clear he is here and doing this work for the right reasons. A great guy, a gentle & supportive soul, with a heavenly voice and cooks a killer bean dish to boot!
