As a co-founding board member and Director of Research at the Pursuit of Happiness, Dr. Paul Desan is interested in furthering the scientific understanding of happiness and well-being. He consults on various POH projects and manages a research study on a happiness curriculum intervention in Beijing, China. In addition to his work with POH, he is the Director of the Psychiatric Consultation Service at Yale New Haven Hospital where he manages a team of clinical practitioners and researchers. He obtained an A.B. in psychology at Princeton University, a Ph.D. in neurobiology at Harvard Medical School and an M.D. at Yale University School of Medicine.
