Karen McAllister

Went to Japan in 1998 to study Zen meditation and Japanese traditional arts and met her teacher Achariya Doug Duncan that same year. She managed the Japan meditation center for 6 years and organized extended group expeditions for her teacher in Bhutan, Antarctica, Argentina, Patagonia and Laos. In 2003 and 2004, she helped the Dharma Japan group found Clear Sky Meditation Center, an innovative non-profit in B.C. devoted to awakening and exploration. Since then she has been an active participant in the unfolding of this incredible center, in the Director roles of Treasurer, Fund Development and Marketing, and since 2014 as Chair of the board of directors. She lives with her husband, Duncan, in Sao Paulo and together they have started teaching Dharma for the benefit of all beings.
