David 'Okukwe' Stetson

David is extensively well-traveled in Gabon, Africa where he is known as Okukwe. During his time in Gabon he learned Bwiti traditions and ceremonial practices. He is a Bwiti music enthusiast and likely the best mougongo player in the Americas, supporting the peaceful dream state with rhythm and overtones.

David is a supporting nganga for  most preliminary ceremonies, his understanding of the ceremonial sequences is experiential and heartfelt.

David, an experienced permaculture farmer/teacher, has also eagerly taken on the task of converting our 7 acre property into sustainable gardens, which he refers to as ‘edible forests’ that will produce fruits, vegetables and grains. He is building a chicken coop for free-range eggs and has a long term vision of creating a cohesive ecosystem at our facility that will provide organic sustenance.
