Dr Abilash Anand - Vaidya

Dr. Abilash Anand (B.A.M.S, P.G.D.Y) will be your doctor at Maitreyi. He received his 5 years of Ayurveda education from Vishnu Ayurveda College, Kerala, South India, and after graduating continued in the Indian guru-shishya tradition and studied under Ashtavaidya Alathiyoor Narayanan Nambi. The legendary Ashtavaidyas were historically renowned for their mastery of all eight specialties of Ayurvedic Medicine, they have made the Kerala Ayurvedic system a rich and complete healing science. Ayurveda like all Vedic knowledge needs years of subtle, sustained and penetrating practical instruction from a teacher to truly gain real insight into all its aspects, this exhaustive and yet comprehensive knowledge has a history of  being passed on in effectively in only such a manner.

Therefore Dr.Abilash was fortunate enough to also train with Dr.Radhakrishnan, expert in Kaya Chikista (Internal Medicine) and continues to learn from Dr.Sasikumar Nechiyil, renowned & dedicated Vaidya specializing in Rasa shastra (Medicinal alchemy). This traditional discipleship has given Dr.Abilash fine skills and expertise beyond his young years.

Vaidya Abilash has been with Maitreyi - The Vedic Village since 2009 and has gained immense respect amongst his patients from all over Europe, America and other Asian countries. His honest uncompromising approach to all clinical aspects of the science of Ayurveda, his focus on rooting out the real cause of disease, as well as his superb diagnostic skills have achieved lasting results and relief for many. He continues to broaden his experience for dealing with the western psych and need for healing through exposure and travel to Ayurveda clinics in Europe. At the same time he delves deeper into subtle research aspects with his peers in India, maturing into a true and gifted health practitioner.

Free Retreat Givewaway

We love you. And because we do, we're giving away another free retreat.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

Reconnecting with myself after a very crazy few months with a new baby! Just having that feeling of being grounded again. But also having an opportunity to connect with new amazing people. Getting exposed and Inspired by new (to me) yoga instructors (and community). Being in the presence of real, authentic and raw emotion (the whole spectrum).. So many reasons! Alyson
