Marija started practising yoga while still a university student. She was blessed to cross paths with many wonderful teachers from India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, USA, Turkey and Serbia, all of whom influenced her teaching style. She teaches traditional Hatha Yoga, infused with elements of Iyengar and Vinyasa Flow. Her classes put a strong emphasis on proper alignment of the body. She deeply believes that without proper alignment and without proper understanding of functional anatomy and movement processes, one can access only a small portion of the endless benefits available in the yoga asana practice. That is why she likes to give hands-on adjustments and assistance to her students. Apart from teaching yoga postures, she always incorporates meditation in her classes, both as a separate practice at the end of the class and by guiding the students to approach their practice with a meditative state of mind and tie their movement to their breath. Her moto in class is play with it: play with your muscles, your stretch, your thoughts. Just play with it and see where it takes you.
Marija holds a Master’s degree in Archaeology and she is very passionate about sharing her knowledge about the ancient Mediterranean world.
