Carl has spent the last ten years chasing adventure amidst tropical jungles and alpine peaks around the world. His commitment to yoga and “breath-based physical cultivation” began after a windstorm blew him from the treehouse he’d constructed, 90-feet up, in an old-growth Douglas Fir tree. After 2 months in the hospital, he abandoned both his career and self-identity, and traveled to S.E. Asia to immerse himself in yoga, chi-quong, meditation, ecstatic dance and music. Since then, Carl has continued to deepen his yoga practice, his devotion to adventure-sports, and his musical and percussive skills. He has trained under a variety of teachers, in a plethora of physical modalities — evolving his own synthesis of movement, rhythm, breath and conscious-intention. He has also founded Third Eye Pinecones, a festival-based, organic jewelry business craftinCarlTreeg pendants from the center of the world’s densest Pinecone and planting a new tree for every pendant sold! Carl loves nothing more than sharing his love of the Costa Rican jungle with guests to the Uvita-area, and has spent the last 4 years scouting majestic hidden waterfalls, jungle-hikes, and pockets of wild-life far from the beaten path. He ardently believes an intimate personal connection with nature lies at the heart of both our physical and emotional health, as well as our broader relationship with the planet.
