Geshe Ngawang Phende
Geshe Ngawang Phende became a monk at the age of twelve and lived for two years at Woechen Thukje Choeling Monastery in Kathmandu, Nepal. He then joined Drepung Loseling Monastery in Karnataka, India in 1982 where he completed his monastic education and passed the Geshe Lharampa examination in 2001, which is the most prestigious and highest degree one can earn in a monastic university.
