￼Ayahuasca Adventure Amazon Healing Center is a lush retreat in the jungle costing various rivers, including the Amazon River. Located in the department of Loreto outside Iquitos (Maynas Province) at approximately 1 hour boat ride from Iquitos, Peru (Bellavista / Nanay Port). Next to the tiny community of Santa Maria de Fatima ( Iquitos, Peru) ￼on the bank of the Amazon River. The centre is located in an Amazon River island approximately 40 km or 25 mi downstream Iquitos in the middle of the river Amazon. The center is newly constructed and has a ￼Maloca (sacred ceremonial space), a canteen or restaurant, kitchen and few comfortable and safe, mosquito-proofed smaller chalets, or tambos, that can accommodate two people per cabin. The property is surrounded by a rich flora and fauna selva (lush jungle) and a natural body of water (pond) with plenty of fish and birds. Large tambos are also available in the proximity and can can hold groups of 5-7 persons. In past years, Don Lucio and Don Carlos have created a harmonious, conductive, comfortable, safe and secure healing retreat centre. ￼
Close by attraction are The Heronry of Fátima Reserved area (El Garzal) where is possible to see the Chestnut-bellied Heron (Agamia agami), one of the world’s most beautiful herons, the Boat-billed Heron or huapapa (Cochlearius cochlearius) that displays a punk-style crest during a courtship dancing, and the Black-crowned Night Heron or huaco común (Nycticorax nycticorax), as well as their nests and courtship displays. The Monkey Island (http://www.laisladelosmonosperu.com/￼).Nearby native and aboriginal communities that maintain ingrained many of their ancestral habits, such as their art, language, dances, feeding, etc. and that can be easily visited from the centre are the the "Boras", the "Yaguas. These natives in general have great domain of the healing use of the plants and herbs, and hallucinogenic beverages as the "ayahuasca". Santa María de Fátima village can be reached on foot and offer a unique display of local life in the bank of the river amazon.
