      My Favourite Festival

I've taught at multiple festivals : Wanderlust, Edmonton Yoga Festival, etc, and the Kootenay Spirit Festival is a true gem. There is an incredible attention to detail, and the programming is excellent. This a festival where you can actually go learn fresh material - as opposed to just taking a series of classes. So refreshing to go to an event where the art of yoga is being putting front and centre. And hanging out in Nelson BC is pretty special too!

Small town with huge heart and fabulous festival

As part of this festival experience I can not more highly praise the organizers who set up a very friendly and accessible event for as many people as possible ot enjoy. The weekend felt calm and focused, the people very helpful and sincere. Be sure to attend and get the best teachers and experiences all wrapped up in a spectacular setting.

Best kept secret, little Spirit Yoga Fest in the Mountains, left of mainstream.

I loved being both a presenter and a participant in this small Festival in Nelson in 2014. I made intimate connections with people and never experienced the overwhelm and over stimulation that I have experienced at larger festivals. This is a best kept secret with uniquely special offerings in terms of teachers and entertainment.

Prakriti’s participation in a joyful celebration.

My Classical Indian music influenced world music trio, Prakriti had the honour of playing the opening night for the Kootenay Spirit Festival. It’s rare to find a perfect combination of good organisation and compassion. The organisers and volunteers were genuinely kind and courteous and we felt welcomed and appreciated. Thank you again. I wish you every success in bringing solace and Joy to everyone who attends your festival. I pray that you get all the support for many more of your yearly celebrations of Spirit. When we realize fully that we are truly all just facets of One consciousness expressing itself in myriad forms we will shed all concepts and live in Love and Joy. Festivals such as this one play a vital role in bringing about this shift.

      Captivating and moving experience

I'll be back this year for another amazing experience. The team leading Kootenay Spirit Festival put on a professional event, unlike anywhere else. I look forward to the many high-calibre instructors and of course being in Nelson to enjoy all the culture and beauty. Great work KSF! Thanks for bringing us all together.

      Kootenay Spirit Fest

The whole festival was well organized and the vibe was fun, creative and energizing. I was honoured to teach a dance workshop, and am super excited to be ask to come back again this year. It was a positive learning experience and I love the community involvement.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

It would my first vacation in the mountains. I think getting away and beginning a new routine would be good for me and a friend. Dianne
