Casa Del Maestro

Maestro, the assistants, the environment, the care, the other participants, and the attention to detail were all wonderful components of my second ayahuasca journey.

A true medicine experience in an authentic setting guided by masters of their lineage. Exceptional and welcoming staff with private rooms and expansive grounds. Matt, Anya, and Peter provided attentive assistance throughout the ceremonies and provide guidance, insight, and integration throughout the retreat. Highly recommend.

I went with the hopes of learning things I set out to uncover but ended up getting what I didn’t even realize I needed. The medicine works that way; showing you answers to questions you didn’t even know to ask. The lineage of Don Alberto mixed with the facilitation of Matt and the other facilitators really make this place special for growth, learning, and most importantly healing. I felt safe to connect to myself, the medicine, the land, and the people there. A beautiful experience!

I am not sure where to begin. My experience with Casa Del Maestro was life changing and soul affirming. Planning, communication, logistics and all things preparation-related were warm, professional, clear, and generous, establishing a very inviting start to the relationship. Matt was an incredibly responsive, pointing out resources to address any questions as well as answering a few specific to my circumstances. Matt works a great number of participants during each year, each retreat, though it was easy to forget as his support is personal, patient, and thoughtful.
Our meet-up in Iquitos, after long travel days was smooth and seamless. Our small group was greeted by Anna and Heather, who quickly disarm trepidation with their very bright and warm souls. They made great and caring companions during the transition from the busy canvas of the city to the rural, remote landscape of Casa. The bus ride was a couple hours, the river boat ride a couple more, providing a nice transition and very welcomed lunch. Upon arrival in Genaro Herrera, we were picked up by Maestro Don Alberto’s family and taken to the ranch. The site is picturesque and tranquil.
The care we received from Maestro Don Alberto Torres Dávila’s extended family was fantastic. The bungalows and personal rooms provided what, I believed, was exactly necessary to promote an experience free from familiar distractions. All the quarters and living spaces were clean and felt warm. Maestro’s extended family provided cleaning, laundry service and wonderfully tasty meals. Even while on the plant dieta, the narrower list of foods was fresh, filled with energy. Portions were as requested. The main point: I felt very taken care of; I truly lacked nothing for my path while there.
All I really want to say about the preparation of the plant medicine and the ceremonies is that each participant was met with care, clarity, support, and resources to ensure a safe environment for their launch into the healing as well as their intention. Maestro, Matt, and Eliseo, and Dante sang magical icaros, that somehow filled the room for all and, yet, were extremely personal at the same time – truly magical. Anna and Heather worked together to weave threads of kindness, support, and peace throughout the ceremonies, which spilled over into the rest of the day’s experiences. Matt was an anchor and a sail; I will never forget our conversations. I am so fortunate to have met all of the family.
This distinguisher for those unsure about the long trip or concerned with personal fears of such an exploration is simple. Maestro Don Alberto is authentic, genuine, wise, and VERY funny. He disarms and lifts up. There are many options and each will choose their own. This was perfect for me and I cannot imagine working with plant medicine anywhere else or with anyone else. Thank you all – my life and the lives of those around me are better because of you.
