About Bristol City Yoga

In 2002 the BCY studio was created by two yogis- Steve and Vacassin, who bought and renovated the property, creating the beautiful studio space we have today.

Come 2008 both original partners had moved on leaving the way for Laura Gilmore to become director of BCY. Laura has developed the studio into a space offering high quality yoga teaching in a number of traditions. We also have a therapy room space offering treatments from Bristol’s most accomplished therapists.

Laura took inspiration from her time teaching in some of London’s best studios and from peaceful retreat centers around the world.

At Bristol City Yoga you will find a warm welcome, brilliant tuition and a beautiful space.

Our Mission

Our goal is to provide high quality Yoga tuition from a number of different traditions, giving students a broad range of options and insights for their Yoga practice.

We strive to create a safe, welcoming space for those new to Yoga, those who want to go deeper in their established practice and for anyone who is looking for support in body and mind.

All of the BCY teachers are experienced and well trained, so you are always in safe hands.

We try our best to make Yoga accessible to those who can’t afford classes, through exchange and Karma Yoga (contact the studio if you are interested)

Additionally we strive to support the amazing Yoga community in Bristol, both teachers and students.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

It would my first vacation in the mountains. I think getting away and beginning a new routine would be good for me and a friend. Dianne

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
