Bodhi Khaya

About us

Bodhi Khaya is beautiful retreat centre and guest lodge located just 2 hours from Cape Town on the magnificent Whale Coast.

Hidden amongst ancient milkwood forests and acres of pristine fynbos, this sanctuary of peaceful energy offers visitors and guests a unique space to unwind, relax and rejuvenate.

The name Bodhi Khaya blends Buddhism with South African culture. ‘Bodhi’ means ‘awareness’ in Sanskrit and refers to the Buddha’s knowledge when he attained enlightenment 2500 years ago, while ‘Khaya’ goes beyond its better-known isiZulu meaning of ‘home’ to express a sense of belonging and a spiritual base.

Drop into stillness, deepen and energise your practice, and connect again to nature, yourself and to the world around you.

Bodhi Khaya is listed by the Huffington Post as one of

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

It would my first vacation in the mountains. I think getting away and beginning a new routine would be good for me and a friend. Dianne
