Harbin Hot Springs is simply a beautiful place to be — over 5000 acres of privacy, surrounded by many more acres of undeveloped woodland. Guests travel from around the world to experience the healing waters, historic grounds, natural setting, lively community, and our spirit-centered focus. Our location just north of the Napa Valley is consistently rated as having the cleanest air in California.
The historic communal soaking pools let you enjoy spring waters as they come from Mother Earth — very hot, soothingly warm, or breathtakingly cold. Clothing is optional here, so you may enjoy sunning, soaking and swimming with or without swimwear.
During your visit, you will want to schedule a massage or other treatment from one of our professionally trained and certified practitioners. Choose from a wide range of approaches including bodywork, energy work, spa treatments or Watsu®, a powerful form of warm water massage developed and taught at Harbin.
At mealtime, join us for creatively prepared breakfasts and dinners at our garden-view restaurant. Lunch items, snacks, ingredients and organic produce are always available from the Harbin Market. Or stop by one of our charming cafés.
Activities throughout the week are open to guests on a drop-in basis, including yoga classes (three times daily), dances, concerts, kirtan, classes and spiritual gatherings. Visiting workshop facilitators offer instruction in bodywork, relationships, creativity, nutrition and more.
Some guests drop in for a day visit, while those staying overnight choose from camping or lodging, including tent cabins, dorms, private rooms, or cottages. All are asked to liberate themselves from phones and laptops upon arrival, as our center is a technology-free sanctuary for guests.
Harbin’s center is maintained and operated by more than 100 residents who share the duties of preserving this land as a healing retreat. Although we strive to provide basic comfort and conveniences during your retreat, we have no desire to compete with elegant spas or fancy resorts.
