Cloud Mountain Retreat Center is a non-sectarian Buddhist center hosting residential retreats year round on fifteen beautiful, forested acres. We are a veritable wildlife refuge which we share with black-tailed deer, songbirds of all kinds, great blue herons, owls, ducks, raccoons, koi, newts, salamanders and the occasional river otter.
Our purpose is to provide opportunities for all individuals to hear and practice Buddhist teachings with qualified and realized teachers in an environment that combines simplicity, integrity, kindness and direct contact with the beauty and energies of the natural world in support of spiritual deepening and realization.
Cloud Mountain currently offers a mix of single, double and shared rooms within our the Diamond Hall, Alder Lodge, Yogi Hall and the Bamboo Room. In accord with our values of simplicity and renunciation, they are deliberately modest in character. Camping is also an option. The main toilet and shower facilities are in a separate building, the Showerhouse.
○ Our meals are primarily vegan though we do serve dishes that contain milk and eggs
○ We always use whole grains, fresh ingredients and unprocessed foods that are also organic whenever financially feasible
We're located deep in the forests of southwest Washington, approximately 125 miles south of Seattle, WA, and 60 miles north of Portland, OR on fifteen beautiful acres dotted with ponds and a lovely creek.
Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth.
