Santhosa - The road to quiet contentment

About This Center

Located in a beautiful setting at the foothill of the mountains. A quiet place where one can come into contact with nature with ease. The only sounds you will hear will be the songs of the birds.

We practice Iyengar style yoga with Shirani who has qualifications from the Australian College of Classical Yoga and from the Kashmir Shaivism School of Yoga in Dharamshala India. Her teachers in India were Lina Ma and Amit Raina.

She teaches yoga in the Santhosa ashram to seniors and uses yoga as therapy for ailments. Workshops in yogic studies and meditation are held annually in the ashram.

The big event in 2018 is the planned workshop/teacher training to be led by Lina and Amit. We hope that most of you will be able to join us on this fantastic journey.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

My inspiration is a desire to gain a deeper connection to and understanding of myself, something that I've been working hard on for so long and will continue to do in the future. I view a retreat as a wonderful way to focus entirely on this without the distractions of every day life! Nicola

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
