About This Center

Little Paradise is a meditation and retreat center just outside Hamburg, Germany. It is a place for a meditation holiday, spiritual retreat, or just a relaxing timeout.

We offer private accommodation, yet we are no hotel, pension or B&B; as all holiday rooms are equipped for self-supply. As a seminar house we offer rooms for workshops and other events.

The guesthouse has a large meditation room with a fireplace, and a cozy, well-equipped kitchen. An idyllic garden with terrace and garden pond invites you to pause and dwell. The small library of spiritual books is another great place to lounge and retreat in the house.

Our house is specially designed for people to find deep rest, stillness and to reconnect with nature and the inner. Many guests participate in shared meditations, others simply enjoy the peaceful tranquility of this place by resting and soaking in the amazing view of the garden, the lakes and wildlife of the nature sanctuary beyond. It provides the perfect environment for silence, meditation, writing, reading, walking, cycling, and bird watching.

Venue Highlights

We provide space and atmosphere for deep peace and silence.
Individual retreat guests are very welcome. Silent retreats are possible. Group events just as well.
Inhabitants and guests usually form a loose community. Shared meals in the kitchens, authentic encounters, deep conversations are part of our daily life.
Guests are free to choose, how far they want to participate or stay for themselves.

The surrounding nature is truly beautiful. The number of large and rare birds around the center is quite unique for Germany: Eagles, hawks, falcons, bussards, red kites, marsh harriers, herons, cranes, storks, swans, flocks of geese and ducks and starlings and swallows, great owls, woodpeckers, sea gulls, kingfishers, bats and many more ... all of them can be seen from the house at different times of the year.

While you are surrounded by nature, the center is located just 25 min away from Hamburg City Center. You can also visit the city of Lubeck or the Baltic Sea, a mere 35 minutes away.

The home offers three guest rooms, two of which are lower and upper level duplex suites connected via a spiral staircase with private bathroom and shower.

Everything a retreat wants to be

I loved walking around and exploring the nature nearby: there are many lakes and forests to enjoy, different farm animals and a variety of birds in the area. The place itself was very quiet, relaxing and allowing one to concentrate on oneself and use the time efficiently. The house feels spacious and connected to nature (it has a garden, where one can relax without going off the property). Maria was very helpful if I needed any help or guidance. I felt at home in her house, everybody (including her beautiful cats) was very very welcoming and friendly. I found this retreat to be a great experience. Feels like a safe haven. Thank you!

      Best retreat center ever

Definitely a place I would visit AGAIN AND AGAIN in my entire life. The natural reserve region provides rich ecology, with pleasing view of lake, sunshine and starry night in the garden, four lovely cats, two brilliant hosts...Little Paradise is just like an independent and isolated time space in this civilized and complex world. Having spent 2 weeks here, I would say the best experience is always beyond words. You don't need to find peace, peace finds you here:)

      A real Little Paradise...

Little Paradise is an amazing place and I enjoyed a lot my 3 weeks in this beautiful house. Expect stillness and silence, but also very nice people and interesting discussions. I was not on retreat but participated in every morning and evening meditations: wonderful experience ! The garden and surroundings are beautiful too, many walks or biking trips are possible. Thank you again, Maria and Antje !

      Little Paradise

Little Paradise is a wonderful place to take stock and reconnect to you core self. Surrounded by the beauty of nature it is also perfect for allowing yourself to relax and unwind in a tranquil setting. Would recommend to anyone who feels the need to stop slow down and reconnect with themselves and the rhythms of life.

If you want to be relax, connected with nature and find harmony this is your place

I spent a few days at this guesthouse. I though that was going to be just a relaxing experience to save energy to get back to routine. But it was more than that. I did meditations in the morning and afternoon, I ate so good productos, organic, ecological food, I started to sleep better that I used to do it, I met new and interesting people and everyday I took a walk to do exercise and enjoy nature. This house is really a little paradise. You have your own space, but also a sharing space with self-aware persons that helps you to mature. For anybody who wants to be reconnected with the nature and the world this is the perfect place, no doubt.

Why Retreat?
