About This Center

We have created The Seed retreat center as a unique space for groups to gather, practice, learn and experience magic in an intimate setting. Our convenient yet remote location, a peaceful Mayan village in Tzununá, Guatemala, overlooks gorgeous Lake Atitlán. Being in harmony with nature is our highest concern and we pass along all these benefits to you. Our venue is ideal for anyone seeking a transforming and rejuvenating retreat.

The Seed provides luxurious ecological accommodations, inspiring practice and meeting spaces, delicious farm-to-table meals, fun hikes and cultural tours and powerful ceremonies, in an ideal location at affordable rates.

Our on-site manager will support you throughout the whole process of planning and preparing all the logistics to ensure a safe, smooth and enjoyable retreat experience for each member of your group.  We are happy to post your event on our website and social media platforms and in our newsletter.  All inquiries will be offered freely.

Together, we can plant the seed of a new way of life and bring greater consciousness to the way we live in each moment. The Seed is a micro model community with the vision of setting a positive example to raise the vibration of our planet. Whether for a long-term stay or a short visit, we invite you to experience natural living and embrace it as a new way of being.

We felt really lucky to have found this piece of paradise. The Seed is awesome and incredibly inspiring and thoughtful.

Venue Highlights

The Seed has been designed and built as a habitat in which nature and manmade structures coexist harmoniously. Our housing systems incorporate building methods that enable us to reduce our use of resources and minimize our carbon footprint.

We follow the principles of permaculture and grow our own food. In our lush expanse of gardens, you will find ornamental plants alongside medicinal and edible plants.

At The Seed, we believe it is our birthright to take our lives and values into our own hands. We are creating a habitat where:

- both nature and humans thrive.

- people can work and share their unique gifts.

- we reconnect with our inner selves through spiritual practice and holistic living.

- nature is respected and farming and sourcing follow permaculture principles.

- we intend to regenerate the ecosystems we inhabit.

There are four spacious bedrooms in our main house, as well as two newly-built, cozy, bamboo eco-cabins on the property. All accommodations have private bathrooms, hot showers, outdoor patios, stylish natural furniture and decor (that we designed and created ourselves) and high-quality beds. From the upper portion of the property, you’ll never tire of gazing at the astonishing panoramic vistas of the lake, sky and volcanoes.

La Casa Grande

The stunning grand centerpiece of The Seed. The ground floor of our luxury eco-villa offers a spacious hardwood veranda and a contemporary open-space kitchen, living room and dining area. Most bedrooms have breathtaking views, comfortable beds and quality linens. Artemisa, our bedroom on the first floor, is furnished with king and twin beds. On the second floor, there are three bedrooms. Rose has queen and twin beds, Sage offers two twin beds and Rosemary is equipped with a king and two twins. There are three full bathrooms in the house, all featuring hot showers and two with large bathtubs. The villa has sleeping space for 9-12 people depending on sleeping arrangements. There are endless possibilities for comfortable communal spaces in the house, veranda and garden.

Casita Heliconia

Nestled near the front entrance of The Seed, this sustainable, bamboo cabin features a private garden and cozy accommodations. The patio area includes a sleek outdoor kitchenette, as well as a lovely sitting area and wooden swing. This casita offers living room with a sofa (that can be turned into a single bed), a dining area, a bedroom that accommodates either two twin beds or one king-sized bed, as well as a marvelous mezzanine. Enjoy the gorgeous attached bathroom with loads of natural light, luscious plants, eco-friendly compost toilet and amazing hot shower.

Casita Violeta

Located on the hillside and surrounded by lush flora, this newly-built eco-cabin has two bedrooms with two twin beds in each room; these can be made into one king bed upon request. This space has a full kitchen and living room which features a fireplace for chilly nights. The private outdoor space includes an attached bathroom with a garden bathtub, a veranda, porch and inspiring garden space, all with a lovely view of the lake in the distance amongst the greenery.

Homemade baked goods, beautifully-presented dishes with fresh seasonal ingredients and yummy desserts will be served during your stay. Our flourishing medicinal plant garden provides teas and we proudly serve our homegrown organic coffee. Our exclusive line of herbal remedies and teas are available for purchase. Purified drinking water comes from a natural spring right here on the property.

Guatemala is gorgeous country full of color and natural beauty. Aurora International Airport (GUA) is located in Guatemala City. From there, you’ll take a beautiful 3-hour drive to Panajachel, a 30-minute boat ride across Lake Atitlan to the Tzununa dock and finally a five-minute shuttle to our doorstep.

Transportation is not included in the group rates. However, we are happy to arrange and track all incoming and outgoing ground transportation through our trusted shuttle and boat drivers.
