CAMP

About us

Nestled in the French Pyrenees at 750m altitude, 10km from the spanish border and surrounded by snowcapped peaks, waterfalls and forests, is the picturesque thermal town of Aulus-Les-Bains. In the town, housed in a beautifully renovated 19th century hotel, is CAMP - the first of a new breed of arts residency. in 2018, CAMP will run a short series of five-day arts, music, writing and arts-activist sessions. these are no ordinary courses - they are intense, artistic catalysts run by internationally acclaimed practitioners; creative flashpoints designed to change the lives of everyone involved. the courses combine work in our well equipped facilities with projects carried out in the mountains - check out the courses for full details.

Directions

By air: Toulouse (TLS) is the closest airport, 1.5 hours drive from here. Other possibilities, though further away, are Carcassone, Pau and Perpignon.

By rail: highly recommended, French trains are brilliant. Get your ticket from http://www.voyages-sncf.com and head for Toulouse Matabiau.

By bus: maybe the cheapest option if you're booking last minute, check http://www.ouibus.com

Once you get to Toulouse: from Toulouse bus station (next to the train station) get the 952 bus to Saint-Girons. Get off at the last stop, grab a coffee and wait for the next bus to Aulus. To check times and prices, a great site is https://www.rome2rio.com

By car: from Toulouse, head southwest on the A64 to Junction 20, exit onto the D117. Continue to Saint-Girons, then follow the D3 to Oust, then the D32 to Aulus-les-bains. Aulus is signposted all the way from Saint-Girons. If you're coming from Spain or east France, you should arrive via the N20 - at Tarascon, take the D8, then the D18. Again, signposts are at all junctions.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

It would my first vacation in the mountains. I think getting away and beginning a new routine would be good for me and a friend. Dianne
