Vipassana, which means "to see things as they really are", is one of India's most ancient techniques of meditation. It is a process of self-purification by self-observation. It was rediscovered by Gautama Buddha more than 2500 years ago and was taught by him as a universal remedy for universal ills, i.e., an Art of Living.
Dhamma Sudha is one of the many centres around the world dedicated to the practice of Vipassana meditation as taught by S. N. Goenka.
Venue HighlightsDhamma Sudha (Essence of Dhamma) is situated in the ancient capital city of Hastinapur on right bank of Holy Ganga and located 35 kms from Meerut City and 105 kms from National Capital New Delhi in Northern India. Dhamma Sudha is the only centre of Western U.P. and the fifth in Uttar Pradesh of a rapidly growing global Vipassana organisation. Dhamma Sudha is being planned after over a decade of Vipassana activity in the Meerut city. Suitable land is being considered to establish a full-fledged Dhamma centre. It is very well connected with highway network through NH-119 & with Indian Rail network through Meerut City Junction.
Dhamma Sudha is serenely set in Hastinapur Wildlife Sanctuary surrounded by long stretches of fertile agriculture fields of sugarcane and staple grain cropswith sounds of mewing of peacocks and other bird's song. Dhamma Sudha's rural calm is an ideal setting for serious meditation. With solitary accommodation and attached bathrooms, the Dhamma hall, segregated dinning halls can seat a total of 200 students, the expected capacity of the centre in the future.
