Quinta Oasis In Ecuador

About us

Quinta Oasis Personal Retreats are one to one immersive experiences that dive deep into the significant questions that lay unresolved for you.  Using ancestral wisdom traditions you enjoy a sustainable and healing transformational experience.

Based on the concept of “Convivencia” – roughly translated as living together or being in community with – we offer a customized program that includes guidance, community service, energy healing, activities in nature and exploration and activities of your choosing.

When you are here you are my guests in my home. I built this sanctuary for individuals to come and heal with the support of healthy food and a natural environment. My work with guests who come for an individual retreat is a 24/7 experience of transformation.

YOU ARE MY ONLY RETREAT CLIENT WHILE YOU ARE HERE.

Where else can you go to have such a deeply nurturing experience, being taken care of and witnessed by another? That is what I am here for.

I HOLD THE SACRED SPACE FOR YOUR HEALING, SUPPORTING YOU TO WRITE A NEW PERSONAL NARRATIVE THAT OPENS YOU TO UNIMAGINED POSSIBILITIES FOR YOUR LIFE, MORE JOY AND INSPIRED ACTION TO MOVE FORWARD.

Quinta Oasis offers a unique opportunity to answer the significant existential questions of your life.  You will work directly with the co-founder, Bolivar Napoleon Luna Paredes, a traditional shaman, Andean Wisdom Keeper and psychologist.

PLEASE NOTE BOLIVAR SPEAKS AND WRITES MOSTLY SPANISH WITH ONLY SOME ENGLISH.

“Caminante, son tus huellas el camino, y nada más; caminante, no hay camino. Camino se hace al andar. Al andar se hace el camino y al volverse la vista atras se ve la senda que nunca se hay de tornar a pisar. Caminante, no hay camino, solamente las stellas en el mar.”

”Wanderer, your footsteps are the road, and nothing more; wanderer, there is no road. The road is made by walking. By walking one makes the road and upon glancing behind one sees the path that never will be trod again. Wanderer, there is no road, only wakes upon the sea.”

— Antonio Machado - Campos de Castilla

I haven’t been able to put words to the experience. Groundbreaking is one that keeps coming up.

Menu/Cuisine

Our guests cook their own meals as a way of practicing mindful self-care. Our food comes from local markets based on the season. This practice is one that you develop here and return home with an attitude of wellness and the sacredness of food prepared with love and mindfulness. When we dine together in community food is served family style. When you are at Quinta Oasis for your personal retreat you are experiencing our convivencia approach. This means sharing the Ecuadorian lifestyle.

Accommodations

You will be staying in your private casita (not shared unless you come with others). All 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom casitas enjoy sliding glass doors to the balcony with ocean and mountain views, full kitchens, hot/cold water, tiled bathroom with upscale accoutrements, open living space, wood floors and ceilings, screened windows, ceiling fans in all rooms, garden areas, organic keyhole gardens with herbs and vegetables.

Our luxury casitas are brick structures in the traditional Manteño style with contemporary touches and upscale comfort. The beds are comfortable with blankets from Otavalo and the bedrooms all have full closets, ceiling fans, windows with views and reading lamp.

Directions

FROM USA & EUROPE
Delta and American Airlines and Jet Blue and Avianca have frequent flights. Fly into Quito or Guayaquil, Ecuador.

FROM MANTA - Eloy Alfaro Airport
You may have to stay overnight in Quito and catch the morning flight to Manta. With advance notice we can provide meet and greet private transportation from Manta Airport ($100 round trip). Or you can take a taxi or drive 1.5 hours along the stunning Ruta del Sol, a scenic drive along the ocean. We recommend you do not drive at night.

We are five minutes south of Puerto Lopez and thirty minutes north of Montañita right off of the Ruta del Sol.

FROM GUAYAQUIL - José Joaquin de Olmedo Airport
We are about three hours north of Guayaquil by car. Taking a bus from Guayaquil: Take a taxi from airport to bus station (may cost between 3 to 5 dollars ). There is regular bus service from Guayaquil to Puerto Lopez; by bus it's more like four hours. Look for Reina del Camino and take the Coastal Route. The cost will be about $12 for the executive bus. You would want the bus to drop you off just south of Salango in the Rio Chico community BEFORE Puerto Lopez. If you do take the bus doing the inland route via Jipijapa to Puerto Lopez then you could take a taxi from Puerto Lopez to Quinta Oasis in Rio Chico.

With advance notice we can provide private transportation from Guayaquil Airport ($200 round trip).

Guayaquil is a major city in Ecuador. International and domestic flights also come into Guayaquil.

You may also drive the modern highway from Guayaquil. We recommend that you do not drive at night.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

I teach yoga part time and am a mom of two toddlers full time. I love my life, but goodness do I need a break. My husband and I have been putting off our wedding ceremony for 4 years because life has gotten in the way. We haven't had a single night alone since our family has grown. I wouldn't change a thing about our lives now, but it would be so wonderful to remember what it's like to 'just be us.' Antrim

Retreat Guru's Vision

We believe human beings are innately wise, strong and kind. This wisdom, although not always experienced, is always present. Going on retreat is a beautiful way to reconnect to our basic sanity and health. Our aspiration at Retreat Guru is to inspire people to experience authentic retreats and reconnect with their innate wisdom, strength and kindness.
