Ocean View Retreat

About us

Ocean View Beach Retreat is located at Haad Khom, also called Coral Bay, on the northern coast of Koh Phangan a tropical island in the Gulf of Thailand. Ocean View has its own private beach which is nestled into a private cove allowing guests a truly peaceful holiday – away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Ocean View is a quiet and tranquil location designed for people to enjoy a relaxing holiday with no disturbance. There are bungalows available with 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms and the onsite restaurant is situated on the seafront offering a stunning setting.

Each of the beautifully crafted rooms have fan cooling options and offer spacious accommodation at a great price. The bungalows are built along the shoreline with the backdrop of Thai jungle with palms and trees screening the resort to create a private environment.

Chalok Lam is just a few minutes drive where there are restaurants and bars, the elephant trekking camp is 2 kilometres away and diving schools are found in the village. Superb snorkelling is possible in the bay and there are kayaks available for rent. At low tide guests simply wade further out from the shore to enjoy deeper water.

Ocean View Beach Resort is in tune with nature and is not a resort for party people – it is built for friends and family to enjoy a tranquil beach setting which brings out the best that Thailand has to offer.

Directions

How to get to Ocean View Retreat on Koh Phangan

The Easiest way to get to Koh Phangan is to get a flight to the island of Koh Samui and then to take one of the many daily ferries to Koh Phangan. A taxi can bring you up north to Haad Khom also called Coral Bay.

Ferries from Koh Samui
Koh Samui airport is located just 5 minutes by taxi to Mae Nam beach where a short 20 minute Catamaran journey can be taken to Thongsala on Koh Phangan. This is using the Lomprayah ferry company and costs 250 Baht per person. There are boats at 08.00, 12.30 and 17.30. There are also many other Boats check this link for up to date information: https://www.ferrysamui.com
(Try to avoid taking a boat to Haad Rin as this port is further away and takes more time and money to get to Ocean view beach resort. It is recommended taking a boat to Thongsala)

From Thongsala Pier we can organize a pic up service for you ( please contact us at least 2 days before!) or you can take one of the many shared taxis that will be waiting on the pier.

From Surat Thani Airport
Surat Thani airport in used by several airlines including Thai Airways, Air Asia and Nok Air. It is a 75 minute flight from Bangkok.

There are connections by bus and boat to Koh Phangan, you can buy these tickets in advance from a travel operator (Air Asia) or at the airport or at most travel agencies in Thailand. It takes about 90 minutes from the airport to the ferry terminal and then it is a 2 hour 30 minutes journey to Koh Phangan by sea. So a total journey of 4-5h - it is cheaper but longer, your choice.

Train
Surat Thani can also be reached by train or bus. The train station is at Phun Phin located just outside the city and the bus station is in central Surat Thani. Connections to Koh Phangan by bus and boat are available at both locations.

Night Boat from Surat Thani
There is also a night boat that departs just before 11.00 pm from the center of Surat Thani. This is located just behind the main booking office from where all the buses depart to Koh Phangan for the day time boats.
