About This Center

Atmanandam is a secular, non-profit and spiritually based organization (501(c)(3) that offers meditation retreats at their meditation retreat center in the Idukki District of Kerala, S. India. They also offer online and local workshops teaching Meditation, breath practices, mantra chanting and other techniques following the philosophical basis of Vedanta and the 4-streams of yoga.

In 2008, Gayathri and her husband Shylesh received a vision for Atmanandam- to create and hold sacred space for spiritual aspirants to retreat and connect to the Highest Self within. Over the next 7 years, this vision slowly turned into reality and is now the Atmanandam Meditation retreat center in Pullikanam, Kerala India. It has been a commitment of love, devotion and hard work. This sacred space has held passage for many who are blessed to experience the pure calm and peaceful energy there. It provides safe haven to spiritual mendicants, Sanyasis, Acharyas (Great teachers in the line of Himalayan Masters) and only a few chosen to grace it's space.

The retreat center is open to the lay public and spiritual practitioners for guided retreats only a few times per year. "To attend a retreat in this space is to heal the Spirit and provide respite for the Soul!" ~ Gayathri!

"The ultimate goal of human life is to attain Atmanandam – supreme inner bliss. “ – Sri Shylesh

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

To find peace and renewal while going through a huge change in my life. Empty nest and the end of a 27 year marriage all at once. Susan
