Desa Seni, A Village Resort

About This Center

Our venue in Bali is Desa Seni, an Eco-Village Resort,  one of the most beautiful retreat centers in the world. Founded 9 years ago, our aim was for Desa Seni to be more than a just resort but also a center for people to come together.

“At Desa Seni, we support and strive for an eco-green, sustainable community. We have built the resort with recycled, repurposed, or sustainable products from the archipelago of Indonesia. We did not alter the natural land structure and local waterways, but rather respected and worked with the natural elements, protecting and preserving the environment around us. We have implemented measures to best minimize our carbon footprint. We have set aside 40% of our land to organic farming for our restaurant, enabling us to produce approximately 80% of the produce we serve.

We support the local community and economy and therefore only work with local farmers and businesses. We have a full recycling program, use glass straws for drinks, compost along with many other enviromental incentives.  Our sheet and towel re-use program cuts down on laundry. Organic and bio-degradable cleaning and washing products are used as well as energy saving light bulbs.”

Our corporate responsibility program works with local non profit organization in raising funds and awareness.  We have many differnet active programs which help support and educate.

We feel very blessed and are extremely excited to bring the teachings of  Yoga to Bali, one of the most spiritual places in the world today. We offer teacher trainnings, continuing education courses, retreats, workshops along with our regular yoga classes.  Our staff of knowlegeable, trained yoga instructors allows us to offer Kundalini Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Anusara Yoga, Embodied Flow Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, and Tantra Yoga.

At Desa Seni you will walk through beautifully kept tropical gardens and ponds, stay in typical Indonesian wooden houses, relax at their magnificent swimming pool, and eat delicious and healthy organic organic food. They also have a wonderful spa and shop.

Why Retreat?

We asked people why they go on retreat, here's what they said:

This sounds like a dream! I am an education student and I have spent way too much time working all summer to pay for school. My boyfriend of 5 years is a government firefighter and has been away working most of the summer. His 30th Birthday and our 6th anniversary is coming up this winter, we would love to celebrate with a yoga retreat! We both love yoga but have barley had time to practice in the past few months. Keeping our fingers crossed! Jaimee and Dan
