About This Center
We are an eco-conscious retreat company founded by mother, daughter team, Tania and Jennifer Stretton. We host hiking retreats in beautiful mountain locations and aim to improve the wellbeing of our guests through hiking, meditation and yoga. We founded Alpenglow because we wanted to create a retreat space where people can really immerse themselves in nature and check out of the many distractions in their lives for a while. A space where people can step off the conveyor belt of their busy lives and simply enjoy being. We look forward to hiking with you soon!
Our retreats are an opportunity to step off the conveyor belt of your busy life and reconnect with yourself and nature.
Venue HighlightsWe host retreats in beautiful mountain locations across Europe. For 2020 we have a hiking, meditation and yoga retreat in the heart of the French Alps and a Zen meditation and Ink painting workshop in the Yorkshire Dales.

Menu/CuisineIn accordance with our focus on environmental sustainability, all of our food is vegan and home cooked by our chalet host and chef Tania. We eat delicious healthy plant-based food, but don’t deny ourselves desert or a freshly baked cake at the end of the day! Tea, coffee, fruit and biscuits are always available.
An example menu looks like:
8am buffet breakfast: Tea, coffee, fruit, fresh juice, overnight oats, home made granola, fresh bread from the bakery and jam.
1230pm picnic lunch: Hummus and grilled vegetable wraps, avocado salad, raw food energy bars, fruit, nuts and chocolate.
4pm after-hike snack: Home baked vegan cakes, fruit and fresh juice/coffee/tea.
7pm dinner: Wholesome and delicious dinner including salad, main dish, sides and desert.
Whilst we always endeavour to cater for any food requirements, we regret we can't cater for those with serious food allergies on our retreat. All of our food is cooked in one kitchen and we cannot guarantee no cross contamination. If you have any concerns or questions about food on the retreat, please feel free to contact us.
DirectionsHOW TO GET TO OUR RETREAT IN CHAMONIX
By plane - The quickest and cheapest way is to take a plane to Geneva airport and then an hour long transfer to Chamonix. Easy Jet usually offer the cheapest flights and it's worth booking ahead for cheap deals. We recommend Cham Van or Mountain drop offs for transfers from Geneva to Chamonix which cost around £30 each way.
We donate 10% of our profit to environmental organisations and part of this contribution goes towards offsetting the carbon footprint for your journey to us.
By train - If you have the money and time to take the train it is much better for the environment. The fastest way is to take the euro tunnel to Paris, high speed train to Geneva and then a transfer to Chamonix with Cham Van or Mountain Drop offs. There are however cheaper options you can find on the trainline website.
If you take the train to our retreat, we will give you £100 off your retreat price to help pay towards the increased cost of your journey.
