About this Retreat
Losing both parents in childhood, followed by the loss of his inheritance, set Pema on a lifelong search for meaning. These early experiences revealed the fragile nature of worldly security at a young age. While music initially became a refuge—and led to a successful international career—the unresolved pain of his youth eventually gave rise to a period of deep inner struggle and addiction.
At his lowest point, a profound insight into the transient nature of thoughts, emotions, and the mind itself reshaped his life. Pema walked away from his career and possessions to devote himself fully to the Dharma. He spent the next fifteen years in dedicated practice within the yogic and Tibetan Buddhist traditions, particularly Dzogchen, studying under masters such as the Dalai Lama, Dzongsar Khyentse, and his root teacher, Loppon Jigme Rinpoche.
After years of solitary and wandering retreat and training with yogis in remote regions, Pema now offers teaching that is grounded, direct, and free from spiritual pretense. His guidance points to practical insight—meeting life as it is, with clarity, humility, and an open heart.
Details of this retreat
Embark on a profound exploration of the meditative path through this immersive retreat, centered on Shamathā (calm abiding) and Vipassanā (insight) meditation. Rooted in the profound lineage of the great Tibetan Dzogchen master Dudjom Rinpoche, these practices offer a direct path to clarity, stability, and insight into the nature of experience—not by fixing or improving who you are, but by meeting life as it is, more grounded, clear, and awake.
The practice is supported by daily Hatha Yoga to relax, strengthen, and stabilize both body and mind, alongside Tibetan breathwork practices, extended periods of noble silence, and daily Q&A sessions. Together, these elements create the ideal conditions to deepen your practice and allow insight to mature. We close the 7-day retreat with a sunset fire Puja on the beach—a traditional ritual of offering and cleansing, marking the completion of the retreat.
Noble silence is observed throughout the retreat, with exceptions during teachings and a designated afternoon break from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Participants who wish to remain in complete silence for the entire week are welcome to do so.
Guided by Pema, together with experienced meditation and yoga teachers, this retreat offers a rare opportunity to engage deeply with authentic teachings rooted in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Whether you are ready to deepen an established practice or simply feel newly drawn to this path, you are happily welcome to join us.
