About This Event

YOGA & WINE  You say WHY? We say WHY NOT?!

Yoga is an ancient discipline and Georgian Wine has the history dating back to 8000 BC. This trip is a sensual experience combining relaxation, yoga and wine.

This retreat program will provide you with a great opportunity to unwind and have some fun with like-minded fellow retreaters. First we practice yoga across the vineyars to enhance all of our senses. As tastes are heightened, mouthfeel is intensified and fragrances deepened, then you can better taste the rich depths of Georgian wines. From meditation and yoga classes to wine, food and culture tours, you'll be seeing Georgia from a whole different perspective. Does it get any more adventurous than that?

Program Description:

7 DAY VINEYARDS & VINYASA YOGA RETREAT will take place at a beautiful property in the wine region Kakheti where you can literally feel the frequency and vibrancy of the healing surroundings and mountain energy.

During the program we will practice yoga every morning and evening combining a variety of different yoga styles: Asthanga, Hatha and Vinyasa along with pranayama and meditation sessions. These classes will enable you to let go of toxic substances such as negative thoughts, poor self esteem, low self image, anger and frustration.

As we combine healing and travelling, we also let you explore Georgian culture by visiting historic landmarks and sampling local finest wines at family-owned wine cellar. You will also learn the ancient and sacred traditions of wine making in Georgia. There is always free time for your independent leisure and adventure activities.

Venue Highlights

Georgia is a country rich in history, traditions, and friendship. At the crossroads of Europe and Asia, it is a land of contrasts, an intoxicating mixture of eastern and western influences, spiked with soviet style strangeness and throes of the Renaissance, ambitious with new landmarks and transforming city escape. Let us guide you to the country where legendary stories of Medea and Argonauts unfold, where the first human civilization outside of Africa was settled, where Christianity was adopted in early IV century and winemaking has been practiced for over 8,000 years.

If you ever wondered why people have been falling in love with Georgia since the beginning of time, you can visit ancient cave towns, hear folk stories expressed with polyphonic songs and traditional dances, admire the architecture of centuries-old castles, fortresses, and churches scattered all around the country to find out why.

7 DAY VINEYARDS & VINYASA YOGA RETREAT takes place in Kvareli, Kakheti, Proclaimed by archaeologists to be the “Cradle of Wine”, it is the oldest wine-producing region in the world. It is the land of hospitable, open-hearted people that live surrounded by monasteries, ancient castles, and glorious churches. Kakheti is characterized by its unique vine grape varieties, countryside and centuries of exceptional wine-making experience.

The eastern region of Kakheti (კახეთი) is Georgia’s premier wine-producing area. Almost everywhere you go, you’ll be invited to drink a glass of wine and it’s easy to find yourself wandering around in a semipermanent mellow haze. Kakheti is also rich in history: here you’ll find the incredible monastery complex of Davit Gareja, the picturesque hilltop town of Sighnaghi and many beautiful churches, castles and mansions.
