Soul Series
Last week, I went to the Soul Series Writing Academy. I picked this workshop to help bring more heart to my book, and Jordan, Johnny, and Michael truly delivered. The lectures, discussions, writing exercises, and reading workshops were even better than I hoped. The weather in Grand Haven was perfect, too. One evening, we had dinner at a great restaurant by Lake Michigan. Some of us, myself included, left feeling ready to write and publish our books. Thanks so much to Jordan, Johnny, and Michael for making it such a great event!

Soul Series...Chef's Kiss
Attending the Soul Series was an amazing experience. The entire process that was handled by Third Coast/Wild Coast Academy was phenomenal. it was great to be able to get into a room with talented writers from all walks of life and experience levels and talk craft. The only complaint I have is that we needed more time. This could have easily been another day or two. Kudos to Jordan, Johnny, Michael, and team for doing such a fanastic job at planning, executing, and debriefing this workshop. Thank you and good night!

Cottage Cozy
The weekend was super fun. It was great to meet so many different people who love to read. The view from the house was spectacular!

A few things that I thought could have improved the weekend.. I think it would’ve helped to start with some kind of an icebreaker. I think names tags could help. The accommodations were very nice however not as clean as I would’ve preferred. As far as the food goes, I feel like maybe there should’ve been some more options that were not gluten-free.

The concept is amazing! An idea for the future is maybe everybody reads the same book before we and off with an actual book club setting so we’re all talking about the same book. All of this being said I did truly enjoy meeting everyone.

Cozy Cottage Weekend
We had a very fun weekend. Everyone was very nice and welcoming, it was a pleasant and friendly group of women. I would have liked name tags, an icebreaker or introductions. I was surprised the weekend was at the host's home. I personally would have liked cleaner accomodations, and a cleaner bathroom plus some type of window covering. The bed was very comfortable. I would have liked fruit offered with brunch and salad with the pizza however, the cook made up for it. She was full of energy and delightful.

If you’ve ever wanted to write a story, start at Third Coast!!
I went into the Skeleton Series at Third Coast Literary Press wanting to write a book. I left feeling like I can - and will - write my story (hopefully many more).

Jordan has thoughtfully curated an experience for writers at any level or stage, including anyone who’s simply been curious about writing their own story. The sessions are thought-provoking, educational, and well-paced, with dedicated writing time to put what you’ve learned into practice. I found myself racing back to my room during breaks because I had so much I wanted to test and play with from our sessions.

The authors Jordan brings in to teach offer varied backgrounds, honest insight into their processes, and a real passion for the craft. They make the fundamentals approachable while sharing lessons from their own writing lives. And Jordan is there every step of the way, cheering you on and helping you follow through - she is what makes this experience better.

You can feel the thought and attention she puts into every detail: the instructors, the agenda, the meals, and the useful and fun takeaways. I’m already planning to attend more sessions. If you have the opportunity to go, I highly recommend it! It gave me the confidence and momentum to move from wanting to write to actually writing.
