About this Retreat
Eostar Kamala is a Clinical Hypnotherapist, psychedelic preparation and integration coach, breathwork facilitator, yoga teacher, sound healer and retreat facilitator devoted to guiding individuals into deep inner transformation through immersive and introspective practices. For the past nine years, she has been leading plant medicine ceremonies as a medicine woman, holding space for profound healing experiences rooted in presence, integrity, and respect for the intelligence of these traditions. Her work is grounded in the understanding that true healing arises from within, when the mind softens and the body is supported in releasing stored patterns. Drawing from her background in hypnotherapy, subconscious reprogramming, and integrative healing modalities, she creates carefully held environments where participants can access clarity, emotional balance, and inner guidance.
Her approach is shaped not only by training, but by extensive direct experience. Eostar has completed a seven-day darkroom retreat herself, immersing in silence and sensory withdrawal. She also brings years of experience supporting individuals through psychedelic preparation and integration, guiding them safely through expanded states of consciousness and the insights that follow. She understands the psychological, emotional, and spiritual processes that arise when ordinary perception shifts, whether through plant medicine or through darkness, and meets these experiences with grounded presence, attunement, and care.
Eostar’s work bridges the worlds of sacred plant medicine and darkroom retreat practice, recognizing both as powerful gateways into the subconscious and the deeper layers of the psyche. Her experience as a medicine woman and integration coach directly informs her ability to facilitate darkroom retreats with sensitivity and skill. Through breathwork, yoga, guided meditation, and one-on-one support, she creates a safe and structured container for transformation. With a strong emphasis on preparation and integration, she supports participants not only in accessing profound inner experiences, but in embodying those insights in a way that leads to meaningful and lasting change.
Dale Niggemann is a dedicated explorer of consciousness, inner transformation, and embodied spiritual practice. A deep commitment to direct experience and disciplined inner work has shaped his path.
He began by completing two separate 10 day silent meditation retreats, where he cultivated a firm foundation in presence, observation, equanimity, and self-inquiry. Building on this depth of practice, Dale then undertook a 49 day solitary retreat in the mountains of Mexico, living in intentional seclusion and silence. This extended immersion in solitude allowed for profound inner integration, communion with nature, and a sustained exploration of awareness beyond external distraction.
His journey continued with an intensive five day darkroom retreat followed by a profound 17-day darkroom retreat experiences that opened him to deep states of stillness, heightened perception, and expanded inner awareness. During these immersions in complete darkness, Dale underwent a powerful spiritual awakening, including what he describes as an inner-eye or third-eye opening an experience that profoundly transformed his relationship to consciousness, perception, and presence.
This direct, life-changing experience inspired Dale to support others on a similar path. Over the past two years, he has worked as a darkroom retreat coach, guiding individuals in preparing for and entering the depth of darkness with clarity, safety, and intention, so they too can access their own inner expansion and transformation.
Alongside the spiritual dimensions of his work, Dale has also studied and experienced the physiological effects of darkroom retreat. Through his own journey, he discovered that extended darkness helped regulate and ultimately resolve a long-standing sleep disorder, offering him deep restoration and balance. He recognizes the profound potential of darkroom retreats to support the nervous system especially for individuals dealing with stress, trauma, or dysregulation by allowing the body to reset into a more natural, grounded state.
With years of experience in meditation and yoga, Dale integrates these practices into a holistic approach to transformation, honoring both the body and consciousness as gateways to truth. He is also a dedicated researcher of holistic healing modalities and has coached many individuals in achieving greater health, balance, and self-understanding.
Dale’s work is rooted not in theory, but in lived experience offering a space of authenticity, depth, and inner alignment for those seeking to reconnect with themselves and rediscover their innate wholeness.

Dark Room Retreats with Eostar Kamala and Dale Niggemann is dedicated to creating sacred, carefully held spaces for deep inner transformation through darkness immersion. Rooted in direct, lived experience, this work honors the intelligence of silence, the power of the subconscious mind, and the profound clarity that arises when external distractions fall away.
This retreat is designed as a safe and intentional container where participants can move into deep self-connection, emotional release, and spiritual alignment, supporting lasting transformation that extends far beyond the retreat itself. Through optional guided inner work, in a small group container, we invite you to awaken inner awareness, access deeper states of consciousness, and reconnect with the body’s natural capacity to heal and restore.
With years of experience in yoga and trauma-informed healing work such as clinical hypnotherapy, coaching, breathwork, and plant medicine ceremony facilitation, we ensure each journey is held with safety, depth, and integrity.
Removed from external stimulation, this retreat also functions as a form of dopamine reset—a conscious stepping away from constant input, technology, and sensory overload—allowing the nervous system to recalibrate and return to a more natural state of balance. In this space, participants are guided into deep introspection, where the mind can settle, deeper layers of awareness emerge, and visionary states become possible.
Held by two experienced facilitators - Eostar Kamala and Dale Niggemann - the retreat offers an optional structured and supportive environment for this powerful inner journey.
Each day is gently supported with an optional grounding practice designed to balance depth with care. Participants are offered optional group yoga, breathwork, and guided meditation sessions to support the body, release tension, and maintain energetic flow. These sessions take place in the shared communal living room—which is also maintained in complete darkness—so participants remain fully immersed in the dark throughout the experience.
We also have two separate suites for those who don't wish to participate in communal activities and who would rather enjoy complete alonness.
There is no conversation or social interaction during the retreat, not even during group yoga or breathwork or guided meditation sessions, preserving the integrity of the inward journey. The only communication offered is through private, one-on-one consultations with the facilitators optionally, available at any time (24/7), providing personalized support for emotional, psychological, and spiritual processing as needed. This balance of immersion and support allows participants to explore their inner landscape while remaining resourced and held.
Nourishment is an essential part of the experience, with two to three organic meals provided daily to sustain the body in a gentle and mindful way. Participants can also choose to juice fast. The retreat is designed as a complete container for transformation—honoring preparation, presence, and integration.
