Details of this retreat

The 3-30 day dark room retreat is an invitation into profound inner stillness through immersive time in complete darkness.

This retreat is a solo or an optionally guided small group darkroom immersion designed for deep introspection, sensory withdrawal, and inner transformation.

This dark retreat is 3-30 days long. Participants can decide on their desired length of stay with an optional preparation and/or integration day.

There will be one zoom preparation and one integration meeting before the event, included in the price of the retreat.

The experience is supported through:
One optional daily small group activity, which includes:
* Breathwork session
* Guided meditation practice
* Hatha yoga session (asana practice)

Nourishing organic meals will be served to gently sustain the body throughout the process. People can choose between juice fasting or eating vegan or vegetarian meals. We have gluten free options.
Personalized one-on-one consultations and integration sessions with experienced guides ensure continuous support before, during, and after the retreat, helping participants process insights and ground meaningful transformation into daily life.

Each participant will be provided with their own private, separate dark room, allowing for a deeply personal and uninterrupted inner journey.

Dark Room Retreats with Eostar Kamala and Dale Niggemann is dedicated to creating sacred, carefully held spaces for deep inner transformation through darkness immersion. Rooted in direct, lived experience, this work honors the intelligence of silence, the power of the subconscious mind, and the profound clarity that arises when external distractions fall away.

This retreat is designed as a safe and intentional container where participants can move into deep self-connection, emotional release, and spiritual alignment, supporting lasting transformation that extends far beyond the retreat itself. Through optional guided inner work, in a small group container, we invite you to awaken inner awareness, access deeper states of consciousness, and reconnect with the body’s natural capacity to heal and restore.

With years of experience in yoga and trauma-informed healing work such as clinical hypnotherapy, coaching, breathwork, and plant medicine ceremony facilitation, we ensure each journey is held with safety, depth, and integrity.

Removed from external stimulation, this retreat also functions as a form of dopamine reset—a conscious stepping away from constant input, technology, and sensory overload—allowing the nervous system to recalibrate and return to a more natural state of balance. In this space, participants are guided into deep introspection, where the mind can settle, deeper layers of awareness emerge, and visionary states become possible.

Held by two experienced facilitators - Eostar Kamala and Dale Niggemann - the retreat offers an optional structured and supportive environment for this powerful inner journey.

Each day is gently supported with an optional grounding practice designed to balance depth with care. Participants are offered optional group yoga, breathwork, and guided meditation sessions to support the body, release tension, and maintain energetic flow. These sessions take place in the shared communal living room—which is also maintained in complete darkness—so participants remain fully immersed in the dark throughout the experience.

We also have two separate suites for those who don't wish to participate in communal activities and who would rather enjoy complete alonness.

There is no conversation or social interaction during the retreat, not even during group yoga or breathwork or guided meditation sessions, preserving the integrity of the inward journey. The only communication offered is through private, one-on-one consultations with the facilitators optionally, available at any time (24/7), providing personalized support for emotional, psychological, and spiritual processing as needed. This balance of immersion and support allows participants to explore their inner landscape while remaining resourced and held.

Nourishment is an essential part of the experience, with two to three organic meals provided daily to sustain the body in a gentle and mindful way. Participants can also choose to juice fast. The retreat is designed as a complete container for transformation—honoring preparation, presence, and integration. Whether seeking clarity, healing, or a deeper connection to Self, this experience offers a rare opportunity to step out of the external world and into the richness of inner awareness.

Retreat Length & Schedule

This dark retreat is 3-30 days long. Participants can decide on their desired length of stay with an optional preparation and/or integration day. There will be 1 small group Zoom Preparation Meeting before and 1 small group Zoom Integration Meeting after the event (included in the price of the retreat).

Participants enter the dark room on the day of their arrival (Day 1), after dinner. There will be time for getting familiar with the surroundings, meet and greet, and Q&A.

Participants remain in darkness for their pre-planned length, allowing for a profound unfolding of psychological, emotional, and possibly visionary processes. They will be guided out into the light on the morning after their last day. Our schedule allowing we may offer to take you for an early morning walk in Nature!

This is followed by a partial day of integration in the light, providing essential support as participants begin to reorient to external reality and process the depth of their experience.

The partial integration day is designed to help participants gently transition out of darkness, process what has emerged, and begin anchoring insights into a form that can be meaningfully carried into daily life. If you would like to spend an extra night after your retreat, you can pre-arrange for that for an extra cost.
