Join us in the natural beauty of the island of Oahu at our beach-side retreat and practice space for this unique 10 day program with international guest teacher Simon Borg-Olivier, Physiotherapist and co-creator of YogaSynergy. Simon offers a unique, intelligent and comprehensive approach to yogic methodology, enhancing progression in one’s practice with a subtle and accessible awareness of the physical body, breath, and movement linked together through beauty and grace. We have personally been studying the work of Simon for many years and are thrilled by the opportunity for this time of shared space and learning alongside this living Master.
Guests can join us for the full program with lodging and meals included, or jump in for our weekend offerings. The focus of this program will be divided into two segments listed below.
External Power and Internal Health
During the first part of the immersion Simon will show you how to work systematically with your practice by teaching four fundamental principles of traditional yoga that are in line with modern concepts of strength and conditioning, and the science of exercise-based physiology and physiotherapy. These principles can help you develop a yoga practice that will enhance your health and well-being on a physical, energetic and emotional level.
Each of the sessions in this course includes 1-2 hours of detailed instruction on posture, movement and breathing by physiotherapist and yoga teacher Simon Borg-Olivier, followed by a flowing and meditative visually-instructed led practice to music (no verbal instructions). You will develop a practical understanding of how to use yoga to maintain and enhance health and longevity, as well as to help you recover more rapidly from musculoskeletal problems and medical conditions. This course can help you be a better teacher for yourself if you practice yoga, and can also help you teach other people.
“Systematically Developing Your Yoga Practice”
During part two of this immersion Simon will show you how to systematically work with your practice by teaching four fundamental principles of traditional yoga that are totally in line with modern concepts of strength and conditioning, and the science of exercise-based physiology and physiotherapy. These principles can help you develop a yoga practice that will enhance your health and well-being on physical, energetic and emotional levels.
Each of the sessions in this course includes 1-2 hours of detailed instruction on posture, movement and breathing by physiotherapist and yoga teacher Simon Borg-Olivier, followed by a flowing and meditative visually-instructed led practice to music (no verbal instructions). This program is complimentary to all practitioners and teachers with various levels of physical and pranayama experience, and ideal for those looking to find more depth in health and awareness for self care and growth in all scopes of Yoga.
Accommodations and Program will be on the North Shore of the Island of Oahu right by the beach of the well known Rocky Point surf break and a short walk from Sunset Beach and Pipeline. Bikes will be on-sight for guests to use on the shaded bike path during breaks, beach access and yard space for leisurely afternoons. All rooms are shared with 1-3 people. We provide breakfast and dinner, all served family style with students partaking in the preparation in small groups as an offering of seva and sharing loving energy with their fellow sangha. Lunch can be picked up easily at one of the many food trucks or farm stands scattered in walking distance from the home, or groceries can be picked up for students by bike wanting to make meals for themselves.
We offer airport pickup and drop-off for an additional fee from the Honolulu International Airport. Lodging for the night prior to the program start date is included free of charge, and the night the program ends. Check out is 11am on the 24th. (All Meals on site are VEGAN)
